Gran Metalik is definitely winning I think. They've been trying so hard to find someone to be the next Hispanic star.

 

Seems like a major mistake to let Ibushi get this far if he wasn't ever going to sign

Alexander or Nese should have come out of that bracket

 

I don't think it was a mistake, he is probably the person who can best make the winner look like a million bucks by putting them over, someone like Nese or Alexander doesn't have the "international star" clout that Ibushi does. If TJP goes over someone like Ibushi, it's a big deal, if he goes over Nese, it's something that could happen on any mid-level indie.

 

Yeah, Ibushi gives the tournament a lot of credibility. Whoever beats him is going to look incredible.

 

I think Gran is the logical choice too. With Del Rio leaving and Sin Cara/Kalisto floundering, he should have a strong presence in the division. I don't think TJ is a bad choice either. We know he will be able to cut good English speaking promos. Hopefully they use the trophy better than they did with the Andre trophy. What is the point of having a guy win it if they aren't going to flaunt it every step of the way.

It's unfortunate that the CWC trophy is hideous.

 

ZSJ not really getting over at Full Sail is the biggest tragedy of the CWC. He's one of my favorite workers currently, but for some reason in that WWE enviroment he just comes off super vanilla, especially compared to Jack Gallagher who can do the same style but with more charisma. It's a real shame.

 

I think TJ is gonna win, in part because he's beaten mostly WWE guys to get there (Swann, Gargano, possibly Metalik in the finals).

That said, having either guy go over both Ibushi and Sabre in the same night should be the goal. Make them look like a damn god. And whoever goes over Ibushi gets a lot of bragging rights, cause Ibushi has gone over Maluta, Alexander, and Kendrick, all guys who are gonna be a part of the division in some form

 

You're right but imo he kills most of that by openly saying he's not signing with WWE. ZSJ might not be signing but at least he's keeping quiet about it

 

Well, lets be honest, if Ibushi had signed with WWE, he'd be winning the tourney. Its only because he hasnt signed that anyone else stands a chance.

 

Alexa Bliss is an absolute gem on Talking Smack. She's going to be unbelievable in this division

 

So apparently TNA and PWG high flyer Mark Andrews has a pop punk band and they just released a wrestling themed music video. Pretty generic pop punk, and not the best wrestling themed pop punk music video i've seen, but it's still cool that he has a band.
There is a pretty wonderful cameo in this too.

 

Decent show. Sick of the triple threat matches. It's obvious that Styles will retain.

Miz is great. Makes me wish Bryan would somehow come back an face him. Imagine how huge that would be.

I think this Orton Bray feud is lifeless. When is Bray going to chase a title? The gimmick is getting old.

 

Paige will reportedly return to WWE next week

 

I wore my NY/NJ 'realest guys in the room' shirt today and a construction work yelled down S-A-W-F-T!!! down to me from a scaffolding. WWE bringing people together.

 

It's so fucking weird that the most grounded story on Lucha Underground is actually the most absurd right now.

 

I would've eaten this song up when I was 20. They fit in so many pop punk cliches into one song, it's remarkable.

yeah, im gonna hold off on Lucha until after CWC. Watching the stream is rough with all the sync issues

He's appeared in a few non-CWC matches now, I wonder if they signed Drew Gulak?

 

They signed him before CWC. He was brought in when Biff was signed as well, pretty sure.
