I love how Cena throws out a few edgy lines and is suddenly being cheered. I wonder what they do with Dean now

 

love that ending. Dean gets to play tweener and sets up nicely to go back babyface once AJ retains. But allows a Cena/Ambrose match to happen whenever Cena is back from filming

 

Was at Smackdown, fun show.

Hawkins wrestled a dark match against a jobber, so I guess his debut was the taped promo? Makes no sense to promote that as his debut though (Main Event was Kane vs. Fandango & Jordan vs. English)

Cena was really over. Wasn't a typical Philly crowd - a lot more kids than usual, and even the smarks were split between Ambrose and Styles

Slater is over, but the crowd just died when the Ascension were getting offense. Everyone was worried that Slater would get screwed like Ryder did and the Ascension's botch didn't help matters

The Usos need more mic time to get some real heat

 

i wish i had the guts to watch just smackdown. it's just a TRILLION times more fun experience. Shorter, mauro, AJ, Heath, women's divison, Daniel B/Miz angle... i'm a fan

 

Just caught up on the show.

Cena came out and gave his typical "you don't have any balls" speech and everyone ate it up. Can't stand him.

Bray proceeds to give the same promo he's been giving since he came to WWE.

We get another triple threat match that includes Cena for no reason.

Ziggler is a loser.

That's all I got.

 

Smackdown was so fucking good

Smackdown Live live thoughts and reactions

- Love the intro package from Backlash, don't know why but it seemed more well done than usual.

- AJ's the WWE Champion guys. I don't know what dimension we're currently in, but I like it. I wonder if AJ is the champ that runs the Camp (WWE).

`- I like Cena wanting to be the 16 time champion. I feel like its something they've somewhat avoided for quite some time. Wish Dean just came out and beat the hell out of AJ. Love the call out from Cena on Dean, this is lovely. Dean spitting fire. God this is great.

- Kinda sucks that the only way they can determine title opportunities with the women is to throw them all in one match and hope for the best. Like why not do a tournament of some sort or wait until eva gets back and do what they did for the universal title. Two triple threat matches and the winners face each other.

- Love the Usos new look. Mojo's pounce is ridiculous; love it. Can't tell if its just really refreshing, but im really enjoying the usos as heels. Such douchebags

- Miz is great, but I don't like how they're handling this whole thing. What made the Miz' initial promo so good was that it felt real, everything he said was passionate. This feels like a regular wrestling storyline and nothing more now. Also does anyone care about Ziggler anymore. The Miz and Bryan do have really great chemistry. What does the Miz want?

- Poor Apollo Crews. JACK SWAGGER oh man. Business is about to pick up! "You Don't Know Jack." Jack Swagger is now a video game game show host

- Becky is the best. Naomi SHINED in this match. I've been skeptical of her work for a long time and while she put on a good show Sunday, I really thought she was fantastic here. Good match overall and stoked on Alexa Bliss.

- Slater formed multiple bands in his journey, but now he's officially a rockstar. Crowd loved him
- Why the Ascension ...WHY

- Skipped the Orton/Wyatt segment due to being low on time. Assuming I missed absolutely nothing.

- JAMES ELLSWORTH! FUCK YOU MIZ. Jesus I was so stoked

- Kinda needed to watch the main event fast, but it seemed to be fun for the most part.

- Good show tonight. Raw was so bad that this was wonderful by comparison, but I'll take it.

- Oh shit Dean! Love it

Agree completely. The worst part is it just makes all the characters blur, rather than giving them all an opportunity to stand out. Nattie and Naomi get completely lost in these 5-woman and 6-woman matches, unless they botch something.

Whereas a tournament or something more individualized lets Nattie get over more as a heel, or Naomi to focus on one opponent with her moves

 

There's two parts to this. One, is that in kayfabe, itd be crazy for Shane not to include Cena. As the guy who runs Smackdown, having the chance to have a record-tying performance happen at your show is good business.

And from a "we have to book him in something" perspective, would you rather Cena pin Dean clean to make it a triple threat, using a story device they just used for Ziggler and that Raw just used as well? Or would you rather Cena pin Corbin or Dolph or the Miz or someone else clean to get into the match? Him earning his way in is probably worse than just getting it.

Since this is likely his last PPV before missing the next few, this is as smart a way as any to handle this. He's not gonna start a feud with Corbin or some other mid-carder who he'd basically have to bury.

And, he can eat the pin (or allow for shenanigans), so that Dean/AJ can have their 3rd match at Survivor Series

Hard to say. You look at what they did with Swagger. It is easy to just switch a guy over on a days notice. I think once they do whatever the hell they are doing with D Young, he should switch over to Smackdown and have a meaningful feud with someone.

Also, fucking do anything with Crews please.

 

So with Kota saying he has no desire to be in the WWE right now, does it make any sense to have him win? I love the guy in the ring, but you are doing nothing for your product if you have ZSJ or Kota win. You want a guy who is going to be able to hold that over peoples head on Raw. With that being said, who is the better option to win? Gran or TJ?
