DDT belt is back in Japan.

 

I mean, that's a little reductive. Bryan specifically said "you wrestle like you don't want to get injured", so Miz's "yeah, well, it's worked for me, and look where you are" felt justified to me. Plus, DBry said he likes the way Crews wrestles better, while Crews is green as gooseshit and rarely even hits his finisher with consistency and Miz has honed a very respectable set of moves he does well over years. He may not light the world on fire, but what he does well he does very well.

 

Bryan said the Miz wrestles like he doesn't want to get hit, not injured. There are guys who wrestle and make it look believable without getting injured.

I agree though that saying Crews was more impressive was dumb just from a kayfabe standpoint. The dude lost, it doesn't matter that he did some cool stuff, they should be trying to win.

 

By calling him a coward...I dont know how that isnt also crossing a line. Especially when he's kayfabe his boss.

I actually love the way Miz called him out on the double-standard, even if it is a work. And even better, to a casual fan who loves Daniel Bryan, this puts Miz even more over as a deranged heel.

The beauty is that transition from shoot to work at "dont' walk away". Miz is so damn quick on his feet, to transition that into "walk away like you always do" and then hyping himself.

 

Also, Renee's face throughout the whole thing is great. Every time they cut to her she has that "oh shit" face. While Maryse is just there chilling

Pretty sure he said "hurt", not "hit". Could be wrong, though.

 

I mean, there is literally no doubt that part of it was a work, potentially all of it. But if either of those guys were such good actors, we certainly haven't seen it before... but that may be a result of a less scripted, more "bullet points" environment.

If I'm getting worked, then hell yeah. I've been questioning what's legitimate and what's not more than I can ever remember in the last month or so, and it's made it so much more fun.

I buy that DB may not be a huge fan of Miz's style but they were in the company for years together, worked together in a relatively high-profile program (at the time)...Miz is absolutely smart to the business and loves living kayfabe. I just don't buy that he'd be dumb enough to go that off-script on TV and lay into a dude that's held in such high regard unless they discussed it beforehand. He may have taken it a little further than DB expected but I really doubt Miz would just flip to a brutal shoot like that.

But that's what was brilliant about it, and the best kind of worked shoots are the ones that make us guess.

 

I know CZW is awful because their next ppv is called Down With the Sickness.

 

Yep. And I think they have a lot of room for other veterans to do similar things.

They really need to let Roman turn heel and shoot on the fans at some point.

 

Clearly they were running out of PPV name ideas. Honestly I thought this was going to happen at some point but I didn't think it would be CZW with the blatant Disturbed rip-off

 

Makes sense given that their old theme is a hilariously bad early 2000's Nu Metal track lol.

Having gone back and watched a lot of his ROH stuff, I really want "burn this mother to the ground" Kevin Owens as champ. Like, the kind where Vince "bans" him from the company for a few months after he destroys other wrestlers

 

When was the last time the WWE network ran one of their house shows as a network special? Feel like they did those every couple of months for a period there, but haven't done one in a while.
