Gotta give them a little more time I think. They've had what, 4 or 5 matches? I really wish they would have let them keep their old name. The Mighty Don't Kneel is so much better than TM61.

    Another solid CWC episode

My predictions for the rest of the CWC

    Quarterfinals:
    Akira Tozawa vs Gran Metalik
    Zack Sabre Jr
    . vs Noam Dar
    Kota Ibushi vs Brian Kendrick
    Rich Swann vs TJ Perkins

    Semifinals:
Gran Metalik vs Zack Sabre Jr
    Kota Ibushi
    vs Rich Swann

    Final:
Zack Sabre Jr vs Kota Ibushi

    Winner:
    Kota Ibushi

Picking between Gran Metalik and ZSJ was really hard.

So uh the intro bracket graphic on CWC this week spoils the Dorado/Swann match (or at least, claims who wins. donno if its correct but I'm assuming it is)

not sure if it spoils the others, cause I only was looking in that part of the screen, but don't pay attention to the graphic if you don't want stuff spoiled

    Jalen Ramsey is the GOAT

Really want Noam Dar to win this tournament but somehow I doubt he even gets to the finals

Honestly, I could see any of the final 8 winning. It will be interesting to see how the rest plays out.

final FUCKING LY they're putting KAYFABE relevant storyline shit on the network. it only took them two years. yesssss, this is what the network should be focusing on. Talking Smack is becoming a relevant, must watch thing (more so than the main shows too). More more more

    CWC thoughts

Did they really have Gargano kayfabe nurse an injury in a match that was recorded a month before he kayfabe picked up said injury? I'm actually kinda impressed
Definitely agree with the quarterfinal picks. Gets you four fairly different styles, from the four major wrestling regions. Dar could beat ZSJ and preserve that angle though.

Semi finals I probably have Metalik vs Ibushi. Think Metalik actually has a reasonable chance to win it all.

Currently hoping Ibushi wins, fully joins WWE and we get Zayn/Ibushi for the Cruiserweight Title at Survivor Series.

The thing is, they could totally work this where Daniel turns a little heel-ish, but just against Miz. Basically run an IC version of the US Open challenge, only, its not Miz asking for challengers, its Daniel forcing them upon him. Same way Steph acts as a face when it comes to the womens division, but a grating heel otherwise.

And it gives Smackdown a whole storyline for the next 2-3 PPVs (and reason for gimmick matches, triple threats, etc), while also pushing their low-midcard guys as hard as RAW did during the US Open challenge

also, love the Carmella heel turn. The worst part of her face gimmick was her celebration/hype stuff. Now it gets cut out and she can just mock opponents til she's over

Balor plans before the injury. Holy shit.

"The plans for Balor were to defend the title against Kevin Owens at the Clash of the Champions show on 9/25 in Indianapolis. Plans were made to have a finish that would lead to a Balor vs. Owens vs. Chris Jericho three-way on 10/30 in Boston."

I'm not sure at this point that Sabre or Ibushi make it all the way to the finals. I'm starting to believe Rich Swann could end up winning the whole thing since him, Metalik, and Dar are the only ones signed with the company now and he's been ready for an actual debut for a while.

    Akira Tozawa vs Gran Metalik
Zack Sabre Jr. vs Noam Dar
    Kota Ibushi vs Brian Kendrick
    Rich Swann vs TJ Perkins

    Gran Metalik vs. Noam Dar
    Brian Kendrick vs. Rich Swann

    Gran Metalik vs. Rich Swann

    Winner: Rich Swann

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

That would have been incredible. So maybe we will get a Kevin Owens win next week. Or, perhaps even better, a Roman win followed by KO beating him at Clash of Champions

Also, Clash of Champions is gonna be an odd PPV name if there isnt a crossover match. Or if they dont have the US title going up against the Universal champ

Yep, Roman gonna win the US belt on a random raw and then win the universal title too. Going to be epic.

How is Cheap Heat lately? Has it recovered a bit since Shoemaker split? I think the last full one i've listened to was the one with Coach.

I bailed a little after the split with Shoemaker, started listening to the buddies at Marty & Sarah  Wrestling and never looked back.

hasn't been great, but brian cambell has only been on the show once or twice. he was fun at the live show though, so i imagine he'll be a good listen weekly.

I don't listen as often cause I was mostly in it for Shoemaker, but I don't think I've listened to his podcast more than once since the split either.

It's not bad, and the new guy they're bringing in (Brian Campbell from ESPN) is pretty good, but it's not the same as it was.

Disappointed we're not getting this but it does make me a little more optimistic that we could see KO win the belt next week/at least be in the main event picture in the near future

  25. That triple threat would have been fucking amazing.
