Currently listening to last week's JR podcast, and he made a great point about the double standard of people criticizing the WWE for their wellness policy but never TNA, ROH, NJPW, or Lucha Underground when most of those companies don't even have a wellness policy or testing.

My gut told me Raw was going to suck last night so I went out to dinner with friends instead and didn't watch at all. Always trust the gut.

 

Its weird but I feel like smack down is way less forced script-wise as to where raw has a ton of cringeworthy promos where I change the channel its so bad

I agree, but I think that because it'll make the booking easier. Roman can pin Cesaro or someone else, and Rusev can do the classic heel move of saying he never lost.

Though Rusev hasnt been booked as strong in this run, so maybe he will lose clean to Roman to boost him

 

Maybe, I mean generally smackdowns reputation is that its more wrestling than pointless promos but the promos I've seen haven't been that bad. Nothing feels that forced or cheesy and bad. Maybe that'll change today though lol does raw have different writers? Idk if they split that like they did in the old days where Heyman was part of smackdowns writing team.

 

How so? He's had dominating wins against everyone he has faced. The only thing I'd do differently, is put some bigger names in the mix. If nothing else, we will always have these moments.

 

A co-worker this morning told me he hates Paul Heyman, I immediately proceeded to tell him to GTFO.

 

Last run he went a whole year without a loss. This time around he's lost to Sin Cara, Zach Ryder, and Dolph Ziggler in < 2 months, while also having a few draws with Titus O'Neill. So, beyond mostly facing mid or low card guys, he's also taken losses to them.

I think his promos have been great, but, they are already starting to weaken him to face Roman. He doesnt want to challenge him, he gets laid out at the end of that segment, he looks pissed to have to face Cesaro...there's basically a 0% chance he wins clean over Roman with how he's been booked the last 2 months.

I think its better for his character overall (see Strouman squash matches and how little they've done for him), but, he's definitely not the dominant force he was heading into that Cena WM

 

I didn't even remember most of those loses. That's a bummer.

Strowman and Nia confusing to me. Where does this all go? Neither of them have any promo chops AT ALL. There isn't a whole lot you can do with them to set up any title picture. I guess whoever wins the Universal title beats Braun in a Nia/Bayley style match? I just don't want to see the Nia thing go anywhere.
