Cena absolutely killed it

 

CWC is rad

 

This is nitpicky, and I hate to be that guy, but how amazingly Shinsuke was selling the submissions to the knee only highlighted how he would suddenly have no issue whatsoever throwing a ton of crazy knees and kicks. Sorta took me out of the moment a couple different times.

Stoked to watch the CWC now, though!

Edit: Yeah, really digging the CWC. Only complaint I have is Ho Ho Lun going over Daivari. Wasn't impressed at all by Ho Ho and thought Daivari looked smooth as hell in there. Really impressed by what Maluta brought to the table. Ibushi's fucking fantastic. The Cedric/Petoit match was my favorite of the night, though.

 

Finn v Nakamura was great. time for CWC!

why the fuck does the middle eastern guy have to be the heel in a thing like this? does that just match his normal in ring character?

That Alexander/Petiot match was fantastic. Really left me wanting to see more from both guys.


Metalik, Cedric, Petiot, Ibushi and Maluta all looked really good tonight

Saez and Drivari also looked good though not quite as impressive

Wasn't really impressed by much of Lun but hopefully he can improve

Cedric definitely wins the performance of the night, but overall CWC certainly lived up to the high expectations set for it





last edit for the night, and granted I only started following wrestling in the last year, but am I wrong in thinking WWE hasn't had this much excitement (for lack of a better word) to it in a long time?

You've got the CWC running, with lots of excitement over both how its going to play out and who from it might get given contracts. You've got (likely) a bunch of NXT talent moving up to the main roster with lots of excitement for those debuts. You've got a brand split and draft with a lot of excitement (and some due placed worry) about who is going where. Coupled with that, you've got Smackdown moving live with a lot of excitement over what the new format of the show will be...

Come end of September the novelty of the brand split will probably have worn off and the reality of needing to watch 5+ hours of wrestling a week just to keep up with everyone will have set in. Smackdown won't actually be significantly different from Raw. WWE will still push guys like Roman. Nothing will have really changed. But at least this weekend, it'll be easy to dream big.

 

it was terrible and one of the few reasons i didnt care for the match. thought finn came out looking the better of the two, which shouldn't have been the case. match has no business being mentioned alongside cesaro/zayn, nakamura/zayn, or sasha/bayley, was not even in the same ballpark.

 

Was just a solid 3 star match.

 

Unfortunate that you have to spend an extra 40 to play as Nakamura.

Hopefully they release the characters soon after as individual dlc.

 

I'd be surprised if a dlc pack including those three wasn't out soon after release

Agreed. Maybe 3 1/2. It also did not benefit from being so hyped for 30 minutes straight before they actually got to the match itself while being the only match on the card

 

Still so pissed that Raw is in Providence for the first time in like 5 years and I can't make it

 

Commercials just slaughtered the flow of the match to me.

I said on reddit that I didn't like the Finnsuke match and people come at me like it was some amazing spectacle. Not sure I watched the same thing everyone over there did.

 

Last one. This is really great.

 

The match was good. It was a fine for a weekly NXT ep. I can't really get hyped anymore for a big match in such a small venue like full sail

Cena was great. Guy has been solid as of late, I'll give him that. Those videos above are pretty funny too.

 

I'd say like probably January for the DLC release, though they did release all the season pass content at the end of March this year for 2k16
