The height of this was Kofi's awful "I hate country music, and that's not just my character talking" line.

They've proven that they know how to reign it in at times though. They're still the most over act on the roster.

 

like someone said earlier, as much as i love the new day, i can't remember the last time they had a good feud. but i guess that mainly falls on creative and the tag division being seemingly in flux. (aside from when enzo comes back from injury hopefully that can rejuvenate it)

 

Enzo and Cass vs New Day is not a good feud at all though. It doesn't jive.

 

I believe that vehemently, that Y2AJ should have won the belts at Mania, then New Day wins them back, Jericho turns, and New Day goes face by Summerslam.

But, the New Day face turn has been great. And heel Jericho has been incredible. And AJ is now propping up the title picture. So, feel like all of that is way better off than a 2 month tag title run.

 

Jericho has been too good of a heel to have been sucked into some forced tag nonsense.

 

AJ seems like a huge waste in this role. You know he has zero chance of winning the title. It's a shame too. I agree on Jericho. He had been great. The WWE needed him desperately with all the injuries. Would have been cool to see him and AJ have a little run with the titles.

 

It could have gone the same way after a short run. I believe he was rushed into the heel role due to lack of availability of others.

 

I don't see how AJ Styles having a 2-4 month main event storyline is a waste.

 

AJ is gonna be a main event guy his entire run. Using him anywhere else is a waste, really.

 

I do. If you know that he won't ever win, what's the point? I think he should win. But they've taken the title from Reigns too many times now to have him not get a solid run out of it. And Reigns Styles have zero chemistry as a feud. It's horribly forced.

 

i mean promo wise it is cringe-worthy, but payback was actually a great match aside from the shenanigans that was forced.

 

Yeah, none of the AJ/Roman stuff feels forced aside from the Mcmahon shenanigans. This is Roman's best stuff of his singles career and AJ is killing it right now

Eh I've seen way worse feuds. I'm much more into the first two months of this Reigns run that I thought I would.

I mean, they literally could have had him just be Cena as a baby face and have him go through various heels for months, with Reigns vs Cena be summerslam (with Reigns retaining)

*that last thing still might happen

 

AJ hasn't even been in the WWE for 6 months yet. He doesn't need to be rushed into winning the title.

 

I'm not sure if he will ever be given the title. I'm sure that after this dies out he will be in the Intercontinental title range.

 

tbh it was pretty cool seeing zayn/owens tag last night, honestly the only thing i cared about on raw last night. haha

 

You think they will team up eventually?

 

Pretty convinced AJ will hold the title at some point. He's in the position he's in right now because of how much they're paying him and the fact that he's as over as he is is only a selling point to give him it. He might not do it this year, but I'd be surprised if he never got it

 

He's 38 and has a history of back injuries. If he's winning the title, its gonna be in the next year or so.

Could not disagree more. The matches have been great. Roman sucks at promos, so it makes those bits awkward, but the actual matches show they have great chemistry. Honestly, its why they were gonna run the feud into MITB, because in-ring AJ is able to keep Roman from looking bad.

Compared to Roman v HHH, or Roman v Sheamus, this is miles ahead

 

If this were the first feud in his title run, it would have been fine, maybe. Having him eat 100 of a guy's finishers and getting up is dumb.

A lot of people talk about how power bombs and DDT's used to be the 'end all be all' for finishers. WHAT HAPPENED?

 

AJ Styles will probably never win the WWE title unfortunately.

 

I wouldn't be surprised if AJ's first title win in WWE is the Intercontinental title, but it definitely doesn't mean he'll be holding it/competing for it forever. He'll hold the world title eventually. I'm sure that's one of the reasons he signed.

 

Styles isn't a headliner in the WWE. He just isn't. Once everyone comes back, he'll be back down like I said. He would not be in this position had it not been for all the injuries.
