So looks like for payback we get:

Miz/Cesaro for the IC title
Styles/Roman for the Heavyweight Championship
New Day vs winner of the tournament for the tag team title

And then probably

Wyatts/League of Nations
Ambrose/Jericho
Sami/KO (might save it, but hope we get at least something with the two of them it)
Probably a Women's Championship match
Maybe US title on the preshow again?
Maybe throw R-Truth/Golddust on the preshow so we can bury this Golden Truth storyline once and for all?

 

I guess he's a face and technically Roman is too so things won't get intense until right before. WWE is planting seeds that probably won't lead to anything anyway. Like why would Cesaro just be ok going for the IC title after being in the main event picture the week before?

 

I dont think they are doing a US title match. No need to defend all the titles. I'm not even sure we'll get KO/Sami so soon. Seems smarter to leave that for TLC, honestly. I'm betting we get Becky/Emma in there.

Wyatts vs LoN is probably gonna be like Strouman v Rusev. Bet they drag that into TLC as well.

Presumably Gallows/Anderson will be in a tag match as well. Or if Enzo/Cass dont win the title shot, they'll face the Dudleys.

 

It seems a waste to not have KO or Sami on the PPV though and I donno who else they'd have them fight.

Banner ads I've seen for Payback have all the Wyatts so I figured they'd be heavily featured. Granted Harpers injury might change some of that.

 

Another really good RAW. I could get used to this.

 

Give them a night off. I mean, they could do round 1 and follow it with an extreme rules match, but, I'd rather just one big payoff. Leave Payback to focus on the tag team stuff, the IC belt, and however AJ gets screwed.

 

so since Bray wrestled tonight I'm guessing his back injury is better / not as bad as they expected? Happy to hear that. Shame he missed out on a Mania match he would be booked to lose.

Ambrose is really great. He and Jericho could have some great comedic moments. "This is a speeding ticket."

 

Totally just fantasy booking here and this definitely won't happen, but how cool would it be if during this Cesaro/Miz feud Sara Del Rey made her debut as a talent to be in Cesaro's corner to as a counter to Maryse?

 

Sami especially is just so hot right now. I don't need to see Sami/KO just yet, but I want him in something.

 

I honestly don't want Sami/KO singles match for awhile. They need find a way to stretch it out as long as possible. I'm pretty sure their first singles match of their first feud in ROH didn't happen until about 6 months in.

Or maybe they could do at Payback, but it on the backburner, do it again at Survivor Series or HIAC, put it on the backburner, then do a final blowoff at Mania 33.

 

Yep, that's where I am. If its a singles match, I want something on the line between the two.

 

am I too negative for being completely unmoved by Bray turning face?

 

Eh. I find it to be an impressive move but his physique screams for a power finisher. Whether that's some sort of torture rack / fireman's carry into something / a powerbomb / etc. His standing moonsaults, to me at least, always look like something cool to do to show off your athleticism to the company and that's about it.

 

Props to that raw, absolutely solid throughout.

 

I'm at Zayn/Styles right now. This is the most enjoyable Raw i've seen in a long while.

 

Quit stealing my ideas. But yeah, I really want to see that.

 

My god, if Raw continues to be this good (it won't), I'm going to be so happy.

Bray as a face/tweener needs to really happen / when he got that hot tag last night the crowd was so into it and he was feeding off an energy I haven't seen from him in a long time

 

Raw was really good

I think they're handling the Wyatts face turn just right, the tensions with Reigns was cool

Styles-Zayn and Cesaro-Owens were awesome

Miz and Jericho are hilarious heels

 

Xavier Woods had this to say about Anderson and Gallows.

 

I think Bray and the family as high profile tweeners will fill the hole that Shield left. Versatile powerhouses that can right characters off when needed, and fill holes on either side of the face/heel fence when injuries pop up. Bray's charisma all but begs to be used this way.

But, mother of god, after months of "anyone but you, Roman", this is one of the most egregious shows of disregard for continuity of recent memory.

the shield still had a rational purpose. i don't get what bray's motivation is for anything at this point.

 

Did they really, though? As a vessel to build new stars, sure. But in kayfabe terms it was just the "Sword of justice" and all that, and the definition of justice depended on their face/heel alignment, doesn't feel too dissimilar to the Wyatts in that regard.
