Makes that HIAC booking even more insane. Undertaker clearly respected Shane afterwards...but...Vince wasnt even there. He didnt go ringside to check on Shane (which would explain his respect and decision to give shane a shot). And then that RAW booking that followed, where Shane didnt seem to actually do anything.

This better end with him going Coast to Coast on Dr Phil...

 

This is weird, but I like it. Last week's Raw really could have been great if we saw more backstage segs with Shane. Hopefully that happens and I'll be around somewhere with cable tonight.

 

Yeah booking wise, it makes less sense but I loved last week, so I am on board.

Yeah that would have made it a lot better.

I especially like last week in the light of this tweet:

Maybe I'm naive but I don't think they'll release him because he does get a big pop anytime he is briefly on television.

 

how long is a WWE contract on average? Gotta think, with how little he's been used that he wouldnt want to renew if he had the chance to go elsewhere and get ring time. Right now he's 50/50 booking house shows against the Social outcasts and makes it on TV every 3 months or so. Usually as filler in a 6+ man match

 

I was under the assumption that both were just repeating what the new mantra backstage from creative probably is.

 

You guys think Shane O' Mac might get another "Control Of Raw" match? Most likely not against 'Taker but maybe against Triple H himself? Possibly at Payback or Extreme Rules?

 

The way things are going, Shane will probably run Raw until he wins a "Control of Raw" match against Triple H, at which point he'll stop running Raw.

 

That would actually make sense. Triple H comes back tonight and challenges Shane's right to run RAW and one match with him at Payback to settle it.

 

Except for that whole part where Shane already had a chance to run Raw and lost, it makes perfect sense

 

I guess we'll have a better idea of where things are heading after a Dr. Phil therapy session tonight.

 

My favorite thing about Shane hosting Raw tonight is the way they announced it, "BREAKING: Due to overwhelming social media support, @shanemcmahon will once again be in control of #RAW TONIGHT!" Oh good, so Shane didn't need to jump off the cell. We just needed to tweet and like some statuses on Facebook for him to control Raw.

 

Hahahaha. Awesome.

 

From a kayfabe standpoint, this honestly kinda makes sense.

Shane shows up because he is upset about how Vince is running things, wants control of Raw.

Vince hears Shane's pop and is like "Fuck you Shane, I don't want you to run Raw. But I can't just deny you it, so instead I'll say you have to beat the Undertaker", thinking that will turn the fans on Shane because its Taker in Dallas. That doesn't really work, so Vince further tries to turn the fans against Shane by adding the "Taker Retires" stipulation. But it still doesn't work, the fans are clearly in Shane's corner.

But still, from a kayfabe standpoint, he's still Shane O' Mac and he is fighting against The Undertaker. Even though he is old, Taker is still at a different level than Shane ever was. The idea of Shane being able to beat The Undertaker at Mania, when so many other greats (with the exception of the near inhuman Lesnar) couldn't, is rather far fetched. So instead, Shane puts up a hard fight and gives it his all, but still can't defeat Taker.

But now, Vince realizes that the fans wanted Shane to run Raw, and also sees just how far Shane was willing to go to take control of the company. He didn't have the kayfabe power to make Shane win the Mania match, but he still has the kayfabe power to reconcile with his son with the help of the worlds greatest family psychiatrist, Dr Phil, and lets Shane play a continued role in Raw him run Raw to show he is willing to "make changes" to make the fans happy.

 

Get to see Shane do that HIAC spot. Taker doesn't have another loss on his record. Shane still controlling RAW.

Seems like Win-Win-Win to me.

 

One thing that I liked about Wrestlemania was that it showed that Shane can still take some extreme bumps, maybe this feud continues on to Extreme Rules for "Control of Raw' no DQ match. It will most likely be against HHH so I hope Shane's cool with taking a sledgehammer to the gut.

 

Since Raw is in LA tonight and it's probable that we'll get an Owens/Zayn promo, I kind of hope there's a Reseda shoutout.
