King will be calling the Rumble match with Cole and Graves.

 

oh and for once i actually think that was good use of King. For some reason king calling Ziggler a loser felt really strong. "Even if you turn heel, you'll still suck" - king, ouch!

 

I definitely liked the way he delivered the line but I wasn't a fan of the segment.

 

That Smackdown was good yet again. Also have a feeling Ziggler is gonna start a faction.

 

was probably the most boring Smackdown in terms of in-ring work, but its so clear how expansive the stories they've created are. I didnt even notice that Corbin wasnt on the show, and he's been their major focus for the last month.

Gonna be a shame when some part-timer wins the Rumble instead of Dean or Miz or Bray, who have all done a lot to carry that show

 

it wasn't great, although i'm impressed that someone in the writers room was like 'yoo...remember that time in 12' when ziggler wrestled king before his heart attack'. everyone else is like 'kinda?'

 

If King is calling the Rumble, JBL is in it.

 

Michael Cole says he wants off tv. Crazy to imagine that.

 

It makes sense. He's done a lot of production behind the scenes, and he's been the guy to kind of groom other commentators to be show ready.

It especially makes sense with how they've used Phillips on Smackdown. He needed the experience of a live show with plugs, ads, etc., which has been his main focus on that four man team. I could see him taking Cole's spot

 

Quick Smackdown thoughts
- Opening segment was great and booking Styles/Miz was really well done. WWE rarely gets heel vs heel matches right, and this was done to perfection.

- Nikki/Natalya segment was so bad that it was enjoyable. The brawl between them absolutely overachieved

- The Wyatt Family break up was definitely rushed, but they're making the best of it. I think I would have waited to do Orton/Harper at the Rumble, but I trust the show enough at this point that I'm excited to see it play out.

- Did Dolph just try to murder Lawler? Holy shit Dolph just tried to kill Jerry Lawler.

- Main event was solid, and loved that they closed the show. This feels like a main event program even though its not entirely there in match quality. This was still good though. Man, you can totally tell La Luchadora is Mickie James just by her body language. The reveal was fine though, nothing special. Gotta wonder if they do a women's chamber match, or if they just save it for the World title match.

I personally hope they don't do a women's chamber match. At least not at this year's PPV. It doesn't seem necessary at this moment and I don't like the idea of too many of the same gimmick matches on the same PPV (like Hell in a Cell had this year).

The one I could see them doing is a women's MITB ladder match. Have one men's MITB and one women's MITB. If it's a PPV with both brands you could have 3-4 members from each brand (6-8 total participants in each match).

 

I wouldn't be shocked if we get a women's MITB this year. I know the girls are all pushing for one.

 

That'd be cool, I could see a women's chamber as well. Alexa/Becky/Mickie/Carmella/Nikki/Nattie.

Would actually be a smart move for WM. Dont defend one of the womens belts and put an cross-brand match with 6 of the women. Sasha/Nia/Emma from RAW, and maybe Becky/Mickie/Nikki from Smackdown?

Also gets rid of the need for the IC/US title ladder match, as those belts could have a single legit feud for each (Jeri-KO and Dean/Miz or Dean/Corbin).

 

I love the idea of a women's MITB match at WM.

Still crazy to me we don't have a clue what the WM card will look like. I think Shaq v Big Show is the only guaranteed match. And probably Triple H v Rollins. Outside of that is completely up in the air.

 

I'm mostly curious to see who they try and put over with the Battle Royal. It annoys me that they still tell us Baron Corbin won it last year.

 

I feel like the shows immediately following the Rumble are when we always start to get a clear picture of the card, ya know?

Womens tourney confirmed, seems like the plan is for the summer.

 

So Big Damo is using the One Winged Angel

 

I'm legit bummed about that Damo thing.

Roddy vs. Cien kinda sucks because both of those guys could use a nice push.
