I wish that Seven would've faced Bate in the semis instead, but Wolfgang really impressed me too so I can't really nitpick

I havent watched the finals yet but its been a lot of fun. No great matches so far IMO but a lot of solid wrestling and good characters. I think the best thing they achieved was creating storylines within the tournament.

 

The first night of the tourney was whatever forever outside of Mandrews and the main event. The aftermath stuff is all on youtube. Second night was full of dope matches. Dunne is gonna be a star.

 

God damn, everyone is trolling now.

 

The UK tournament was so good. I am fine with the oversaturation of WWE content, because I can just watch Smackdown/205 Live and PPVs regularly, and then use a lazy Sunday morning to go watch some of the more buzzed about matches from the other programming.

My notes:
- Pete Dunne has been showered in praise by everyone who watched, but I've gotta throw my hat in there too. I think Jim Cornette just found his new favorite wrestler. The sky's the limit for a heel like that who can get real heat in a world where most heels are more over than faces.
- Devlin is legitimately a smaller Finn Balor and I can't take him seriously as a result lol. Dude needs to establish a more distinct look. In ring stuff was slick, though.
- Wolfgang fucking rules.
- I love Tyler Bate in the ring, especially the rolling corner kick into the Tiger Driver, but the whole lack of emotion after matches really doesn't do it for me.
- Nigel McGuinness is a treasure and Michael Cole is one of the best commentators of all time at his core.

 

I LOVE having two guys calling the action in the ring. We don't need 2-4 guys telling us who is the good guy, who is the bad guy. Nigel and Cole played off each other perfectly. We've seen that Graves and Phillips can do it, so why not do it on every show?

 

Because we need an outlet for David Otunga, damnit!

Isn't Cole's contract up around that time frame, too? Perfect time to drop the belt.

 

They are in a weird spot. There is a PPV where Daniels is going up against Cole for the title. A lot of folks on Reddit are pissed that they announced this, with that still down the pipeline. We'll see how it all shakes out in March.

really? I mean, the early 00's was probably the 2nd best time for women's wrestling in the modern era of the WWE. I mean it wasn't great, but Molly Holly, Jazz, Trish, Lita, Victoria, Gail Kim, Mickie James. Sure you still had Torrie Wilson, Kiebler and Dawn Marie running around, but the early 00s was a pretty decent time for actual women's, in-ring, wrestling. It didn't get realllllly bad until Divas Search in the late 00s.

 

I probably dropped off a bit earlier, considering I have no idea who most of those women are (or rather wouldn't have then). I think I dropped off with Jackie and Sable.

If they were smart they would. Cole is leaving, almost set in stone. Dalton is the perfect guy at just about the perfect time to pass the torch to him and let him run with a title reign.
