So I just stumbled upon a Chris Benoit Fan page on facebook that's seems to deny he commited the heinous acts he was accused of, eh. That's enough internet for me today.

Wow they actually came up with a strong way for Asuka to drop the title.

Late pass on this, but 2K17 is p good. I really didn't enjoy 15 or 16 at all, but this is the first time the roster hasn't felt totally antiquated by release, and there's been enough fine-tuning to make it worthwhile. This is the first year ever that Universe mode books somewhat sensibly. I've got a sinus infection so I'll probably be playing all day.

Can't get into the 2K games all that much. The presentation and graphics are amazing, but I just don't care for the gameplay. I guess I'm set in my ways and have always preferred the gameplay of the old THQ games like No Mercy and WM2000.

Just saw a rumor that LU Season 4 taping wont happen until 2018. Thus why they are taking the little hiatus here.

If thats true, feels pretty likely they'll die, as I gotta imagine their talent would be pissed to basically sit out for a year

Yeah they are all pissed. A lot of them are signed on for 7 seasons, which means they can't look elsewhere for televised work. Such a bummer.

The 2K17 was painfully bad, imo. Not sure how people enjoy those games.

I was the same way, particularly about 2K15. That was an absolute chore to play because it was the first year they implemented the "drama" mechanics with an awful stamina meter and such. All of that is still present, but way improved/refined. There are some little touches that make the game for me:
    - The fact that when you're particularly dead, you crawl to the ropes to pull yourself up.
    - Also while dead, you can do the classic crawl to your opponent and drape your arm over them for the pin.
    - You start with five reversals stored up, and once depleted they take time to recharge, so infuriating reversal wars are a thing of the past and there is some real strategy involved.
    - In multi-man matches, there is now a "ring out" condition where you roll to the outside for a bit if you get particularly wrecked, and are only allowed to recover and get back in the ring after 15 seconds or so. You can choose to run back in sooner, but you'll get a debuff to your stamina/speed and be more prone to getting wrecked again.

All in all, it's actually kind of astonishing how true to life the whole experience is, but it may take some tinkering with the settings to get the N64 arcadey feel going.

I hated the last two, but love this one. The settings are pretty flexible and you can turn off many of the mechanics some would find frustrating. Also helps that it's free because my local library has a bonkers selection of games.

Marty's story is such a shame. I remember when he came back during the buildup to the HBK/Angle Mania match and had a banger of a 10 minute match with Angle on Smackdown. My uncle who was a lapsed fan marked so hard that it was infectious. Dude would've made a great trainer if he stayed clean.

I actually worked an indie convention last year as a vendor, helping out my buddy's game store. Jannetty was booked to do a signing at the store in the morning, and then do a run in during the main event that night. He wound up no-showing his flight, and Bob Holly replaced him at the drop of a dime, and refused to accept any booking fee from my buddy for the signing. He is a super nice guy in contrast to some of the stories out there. He talked about how he built a computer with a three monitor setup and a wheel/pedal/gearbox for some free online racing game. Also about Roman not getting over and how he's a huge Ziggler guy and got pissed that they weren't giving him promo time. I showed him one of the better Ziggler promos that they put on Youtube rather than TV and he was so disappointed in them lol.

Yeah, he seems to have found peace in retirement. Mentioned he has no desire to be back on TV, and that his book was selling so well that he was out of copies and didn't actually have anything to sell at the convention because he's against selling 8x10's. I'll have to check out that episode of AoW.

Nothing really spoilery, but some interesting tidbits. Sucks that TM61 is on the shelf now.

While this can all change, the Terry Taylor class at the Performance Center, which is the one to groom people who will be are being considered right now for somewhat imminent main roster spots are Nakamura, Almas, Alexander Wolfe, TM 61, Itami, Ciampa, Gargano, Hero, Samson and Dillinger. The next group down, meaning right now not imminent but they are the ones who would move up when those in the top group go to the main roster would be Tino Sabbatelli, Riddick Moss, Damo, Authors of Pain, Tommy End, Roderick Strong, Dan Matha (who is 6-7 and a bodybuilder but has hardly worked in developmental), Oney Lorcan, Wesley Blake, Buddy Murphy, Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder. Bobby Roode doesn’t train at the Performance Center as his deal is different, nor does Eric Young, Samoa Joe and I believe Austin Aries so they wouldn’t be in get-ready classes

Victor Travagliante, who had been the lead announcer for Tommy Dreamer’s House of Hardcore promotion, has signed to start here, likely with NXT. PW Insider reported that Travagliante will use the name Vic Joseph. They had been talking with him for months, as the first we’d heard about WWE having interest in him was at the same time they were contacting guys like Curt Hawkins, Jinder Mahal and Shelton Benjamin at the time of the brand split

Shane Thorne of TM 61 will be undergoing knee surgery I believe on 1/12, which will put him out of action for several months. The injury took place at the 1/5 tapings. The plan was for a significant TM 61 vs. Revival program, so the Revival are going to need a new team to work with

Those who started this week full-time in Orlando at the performance center are three wrestlers from China, Mustafa Ali, Daivari, Gulak, Nese, Tajiri, Mary Kate Glidewell (Andrea in Florida indies), Dori Prange (Heidi Lovelace), Kimberly Frankele (Kimber Lee), Julia Ho (Julie Real, a model, singer actress with a martial arts background), Hero and coach John Miller (Johnny Saint)

They are looking for new gimmicks for TM 61 (although with Thorne injured there is no rush for this), Blake, Murphy, Steve Cutler, Aliyah, Moss, Sabbatelli and Matha, which is a good sign in the sense they see something in them, just not as they are right now.

i think it's considered dirtsheet so it's why I ask, are we allowed to talk about the report that Samoa Joe may get a big push in the Rumble to set up a top match at Mania?
@Henry you can delete this post if it's a no

I don't think it is a huge deal since it isn't necessarily in spoiler territory. If anything leaks pertaining to opponents or anything like that, I think that is what we want to keep out.

Weird to see the Revival in the lower class because I assumed they were some of the closest to a call up behind only Joe. Interesting stuff though.

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

I could see the Revival as being the tag team gatekeepers for a bit down there like Joe was.
