My guess still is Suzuki beats Okada and Suzuki-gun runs rampant and dominates for a while, Kenny comes back, wins the New Japan Cup, and besats Suzuki for the belt so he can come to the US with the title for the G1 shows in California.

 

Is G1 solely a tournament or would they have championship matches there? Basically, would it make sense to wait and have Kenny win the belt at that show in the US (I think L.A.)?

 

I don't think they have him go over at a house show.

 

Those LA shows sound more like they're going to be "Road To" shows, so glorified house shows really. I don't see him winning the belt in the US.

 

Ah ok. Still pretty new to NJPW so wasn't sure how their schedule really worked. You guys were def right then that going into those shows as champ already seems like the best route.

 

Even these house shows are pretty new territory for them. They had done a few in the past, but these are their first shot at really capturing that US market. Having a foreign champ going into them is the strongest way for them to draw. He is so over in Japan that it makes perfect sense. Just listening to his matches over there is hilarious.
