If Orton winning means Bray gets to win the title and be in a Mania main event...I'm for it.

Cause there was a fuckload of great talent in the ring? You don't need a surprises to have fun.

Because it still did a good job at meshing storylines and was entertaining? You can have a fun rumble without surprise entrants that usually don't last long.

New Beginning is next weekend too, so that'll be awesome for sure. Two good weekends of wrestling in a row

    man, I'm pretty Prestigious

Orton can do the heavy lifting with that stuff. Wyatt can stick to local tv & radio like he usually does. It's the same thing as Cena being there. One guy does most of the PR.

edit: as far as taking the belt off of AJ, it did two things. Most importantly, it gave Cena a win back. One thing people in here always seem to forget: John Cena doesn't lose feuds. If he wasn't out of action for a while last year, I imagine this happens much sooner. Second it boosts Cena to 16 so they are ready whenever they need him to break the record.

This is WWEs chance to actually build a new top star in Wyatt, and I hope they go through with it. He's such a unique talent, and could really get over.

  12. Better rumble in a while yeah but Reigns at 30 was so fucking gross. Literally not one surprise spot. Don't count Tye cause we all saw it coming but it was still an awesome moment (that was terribly caught on camera, holy fuck)...

Praying we can somehow get a inter-brand match in Balor vs Styles at Mania.

Yeah, if everything plays out the way it seems, I don't know what Balor does at Mania if he's cleared. Maybe Club vs New Day?

I disagree. It's what the RR is famous fir

So looking at the eliminations I think shows a big part of the problem with the rumble:

Orton took out Roman to win
Braun, Lesnar, Goldberg, Roman, and Taker accounted for 20 of the 29 eliminations.

New day all got eliminated at once by Cesaro/Sheamus
Cesaro/Sheamus both got eliminated by Jericho
    Henry took out Gallagher
    Corbin took out Strowman
    Harper took out Crews

Had a bunch of really strong midcard talent in the ring, and instead of having them take out each other they all put the old guys over. Even with Braun, he basically just defeated all the lower midcarders and didn't take out anyone of real name.

basically the middle third of the rumble was just the ring filling up with midcarders and not a lot actually happening. If they had spaced out Goldberg/Lesnar/Taker might've been a bit more interesting but it seemed instead like "no gotta get these all in the ring and don't let them eliminate each other because we need to feed them to people later"

I would say the Rumble is more famous for the person who usually gets to headline Mania lol

Do you guys think the rumble would be better or worse received if they had booked it the same but hadn't announced Taker, Lesnar and Goldberg as contestants?

But not one real surprise. Come on.

If they were all surprises? Definitely better received. Not even close.

  21. The rumble match was great until we got to the part that everyone was anticipating.

Creative pulling that off takes talent.

With the way they had it set up, honesty, a lot of surprises wouldn't have made sense.

Joe would've been cool but I guarantee most of you would've been mad if he didn't win.
