It’s so much more enjoyable. Let’s see two giant faces go at it and see who is the true company leader.

Rock just confirmed Meltzer’s report that the original plan was Cody turning heel and then turned to Cena after the idea was rejected. He only showed up because Elimination Chamber sales were struggling and was asked to do something then to increase them lol.

Yeah, I believe the working theory at this point is that Levesque and Cena cooked up the plan to turn Cena at Wrestlemania. Concurrently, Rock was pitching a Cody heel turn. Both Rhodes and Levesque rejected that outright, Rock was made privy to the Cena plans, and he interjected himself into that.

I have a hard time believing Triple H would blow up his entire creative vision for Wrestlemania of his own volition, so it feels like there was meddling by Dwayne/the board that forced his hand, be that slow sales in Toronto or Rock just having to get his way some way.

Also worth noting that, in a 60+ minute Hall of Fame speech that mentioned virtually every contemporary Triple H ever had, he somehow conveniently never mentioned The Rock, lol.

  6. The Rock coming to be involved in the company’s biggest heel turn ever…giving the impression that he orchestrated it and was the mastermind of it…and then just leaving…is insane to me!

The angle was a really really really big miss. It sucked.

Not saying heel cena champ won't be good from here on out but the cena/cody/rock angle was bad.

  8. Even with The Rock showing up at EC, they couldn’t just waited for the Cena turn to happen at WM. Just have Cody turn him down at EC and have a little scuffle. Boom end of The Rock’s involvement. Then Cena shocks the world at WM and turns heel to win the title.

  9. And why is he the final boss if he just vanishes lol shouldn’t you have to defeat the final boss in some way?

Just got to work and everybody is telling me "wrestling is coming to Petco Park, are you going?" (I work in San Diego, everybody in the office are Padres fans and know I'm the only one that likes wrestling)

    - The Rock says he could've been involved in the Wrestlemania 41 finish, but instead wanted the spotlight to be on John Cena and Number 17

    - The Rock says that TKO CEO, Ari Emanuel called him for help because ticket sales for Elimination Chamber were slow, and wanted something must-see.

    - He wants Cody to eventually turn heel because of "how smart he is". He pitched Cody selling his soul and (according to Rock lol) Triple H decided to go with Cena instead

    - The Rock understand that when people saw Travis Scott that they thought he was also coming out. He said he would have adjusted or finessed things a little more

    - The Rock says he called Cody and John Cena after Elimination Chamber that "I think the Final Boss' work is done" (To be interpreted...)

    - He "liked the finish", but he "would have gotten there differently".

    - He was watching WrestleMania at home

  15. At least they followed up with a great Raw. They definitely botched that story for Cena/Cody but a quick rebound into other things can save Cena’s heel run.

Objectively they are still making more money than ever. Part of that is how ridiculous their ticket prices are now but people are still buying.

He’s also partly bullshitting about Chamber sales because the majority of tickets were sold before he even reappeared, but anything less than a sellout is disappointing in this regime.

Idk that netflix thing about exposing the entire wrestling business.....I hate it. It's too much. Kayfabe died a long time ago but there's a difference between kayfabe being dead and completely showing us all the magic tricks

I do appreciate and have always loved wrestling as an art
