My Summerslam main event prediction is Night One: Rollins/Roman and Night Two: the last ever Cena/Orton match

 

Stephen Amell and Bad Bunny were like the only two celebrities to take it seriously

 

Logan Paul clearly has, despite him being a douche

 

WWE has been doing the celebrity thing forever so it feels weird to be so fired up about it now. Like, it sucked, but it didn’t suck more than most celebrity appearances lol

 

Well yea but l loathe him so I refuse to mention him lol

 

Logan Paul has taken it serious for a celebrity type but I’d like to see more of him. I’m guessing I’m in the minority there haha but I really enjoy him as a wrestler despite hating him as a person lol

 

dude has some great moves and can clearly keep up and be an entertainer, it's just all the extra shit that comes with the Paul brand I can't stomach.

 

Paul is taking up space, even if he is decent in ring. Whats the point when he is barely ever around

 

David Arquette is the only celebrity wrestler that matters.

 

I mean, barely being around usually gets you title reigns in WWE lol

 

Bad Bunny put in the work and spent a good amount of time at the PC.

 

I think this one feels different in terms of effecting the top angle and level of involvement.

This isn't just a quick one off in the main event like Tyson at WM14 or a fun mid card angle like Bad Bunny or Lauper.

Also this one has more of a vibe of "They need WWE" vs "WWE needs them" than any other celebrity thing they have done. Which adds to how lame it feels.

 

Action Bronson took it seriously in AEW. Sure, he didn’t do too much, but you can tell he’s a dude who loves wrestling and respected those he was in there with.

 

If I learned anything from this week, it's how fucking awesome Samoa Joe is. We watched so many of his old ROH/TNA matches and I finally watched his full shoot interview with Punk.

 

How does Travis Scott possibly need WWE more than WWE needs him lol

 

I can’t see them not running Orton at Backlash in St. Louis.

 

Yeah that one puzzled me. He only probably showed up at WM because he was at Coachella anyways lol

 

Im with drew the more i think about it. Worst in the last 15 years? No. But it's definitely bottom 15 of all time

 

Yeah and that main event of night 2 is easily a bottom 10 main event.

 

Maybe i am out of touch with culture but the last time I heard of Travis Scott doing anything it was when a bunch of people died at Astroworld

I think my biggest issue with Scott (aside from him being a shit bag) is that he’s been shoehorned into the biggest story in the company and one of the biggest heel turns of all time. Celebrity involvement is nothing new, and it’s rarely good, but it’s also usually wrapped in to its own little thing off to the side.

He was also more or less used as a proxy for THE ROCK. I don’t care how big Scott is in the rap world, he’s not a suitable or acceptable stand in for Dwayne.

 

Yeah, he's a much much much bigger star than anyone else in WWE save for like...Cena lol

 

Honest question cuz i rly dont know:

Is there a promotion these days that completly sticks to kayfabe, no comedy segments, no supernatural stuff etc?

And if not (which i assume): would such a concept work these days? I dont mean in the sense that people would actually believe that it's real, but would a no bs kayfabe concept be succesful?
