hate to be the bad guy here, but let's keep this phrase in mind: WE'RE NOT CASUAL FANS.

for the fans that wwe is aiming for, there were surprises for them: underdog vaquer winning, steph HOF announcement, women wrestling men (though the stip is mvm, wvw), heyman doing the intro for lesnar...

but as hardcore wrestling fans, that isn't a surprise, or it isn't enough. which is fine. for the people who like that kind of wwe product, let them like it. i will say that sky and vaquer was the only match of the entire day that exceeded my expectations, though i also like the triple threat for the unified strap and the most basic 80's wrestling feel that was the mixed tag match. no matter what kink of fan you are, you were fed well on saturday.

 

I completely forgot that Wendel fucking Clark was at the PPV on Saturday.

 

Tinfoil hat time - someone at TKO ok’d / encouraged that story/review of the show as a way to begin planting the reasoning for replacing Triple H as head of creative.

I think when triple h teases surprises....his wife and the daughter of the boss getting a fake award isnt really what most fans are looking for lol

I don’t think any of those things were even surprising for casual fans. You know all the mcmahons are going in at some point. The women’s match was for a vacated title (I don’t know if there was build up, haven’t been watching) so that’s pretty 50-50. Only thing somewhat surprising was Heyman and even then it doesn’t make sense unless Brock is being brought into the fold of that stable. Is that stable still a thing?

 

Not brought up even 1% on Raw and wouldn't be surprised if its non cannon

 

has TK/anyone commented on what they are going to do with the Unified Title once Okada loses it? unreasonably bothersome to me that it is just three belts now lol
