I think Punk gotchas are okay when the company and his character play up his main eventing night 1 as the biggest of deals, it's incongruous with even his character just within WWE.

I'm glad he got his flowers and we got a good match last night, but Punk of 2013 would still be pissed and we all know it lol

 

I think 2025 punk is a kinder and different person than 2013 punk

 

This is also a big pet peeve of mine lol.

 

He seems happy in WWE at the moment sure but he also put his hands around a younger wrestler’s throat backstage two years ago lol

 

And forced the company to create his own show for him

 

Tonight’s card should be much better hopefully. I can see everything except the women’s tag being pretty solid. I hate Logan Paul, but I do think he can have a pretty fun match with AJ. Drew/Priest might surprise people, 4 way is dope, women’s 3 way should be great and Cody/Cena should be great theater at the very least.

 

Alvarez making a great point. Dragon Lee would have been a much better replacement for Rey. No reason to have Fenix lose so quickly in a short match.

 

I’m always game for Punk gotchas because he brings it on himself for the most part. This is the longest stretch he’s gone without an incident so that’s nice and all. But he’s burned so many bridges. And it’s obvious a lot of people haven’t forgotten that.

 

I think the Punk gotchas have gotten pretty tiresome at this point. He’s never really been a bad human, just a diva with a huge ego. He’s definitely burned bridges though and I get why certain wrestlers or even promoters would have resentment towards him. He still certainly deserves his flowers and I’m very happy he got them last night

 

Also the IC title match should provide some cool fun stuff tonight. I hope Dom wins

 

I think I’m most excited for that match

Yeah, I don’t think Punk is a bad person. And I don’t really root against him. I just think he’s said enough about other wrestlers that I don’t have issues when one of those wrestlers gets a chance to let him know how they feel, and they do it. It’s also just good material for the storytelling. Any time you can have a little truth mixed into the story it’s better imo.

 

I thought Dragon Lee would have been a good replacement considering he had his mask ripped off by Americano a couple of weeks back too.

They protected Fenix though. A hard kick to a steel bar and two headbutts with the same bar doesn’t make him look bad IMO

 

Yup, and I think it’s pretty clear Punk and Seth made amends but the personal feelings brought it to another level like it did with Drew. Sucks KO got hurt because that’s another program that would have been top notch

 

If Dom wins it would legit pop me

 

watched day 1 at a party where the projector was way too dim and couldnt see shit the whole time, went to a gig last night before the main event started and rewatched the show when i got home on my large baller 4k television

i think that gunther jey match was kinda dog shit but i think gunther will be okay long term and that finish felt like the only way they could really give jey the W and it not feel like some mickey mouse spear ending. hate the direction they're going but that crowd has #yeetmania

rey fenix losing to el grande americano sucks lol

charlotte was 100% sandbagging tiffy and just honestly could not keep up, but in an oddly charming way i think it added to the match and it felt very 1980s ajw scrappy uncoordinated messy style like i believed in the heat between them. worked myself into a shoot

main event was gangster, i really thought roman would win but the way the did things was the most obviously interesting choice and refreshes the shows. maybe punk can feud with someone unique

also that cm punk video package the best one they've ever done, better than the danielson one

 

In terms of inside WWE I don’t mind him either. I like his energy. But I do agree that sometimes he needs to let moments breathe. But overall I think he’s pretty good. I also really like Tessitore.

 

Don’t mind Fenix losing just would prefer it not had been at mania. Good to get the loss out of the way.

 

The little bit of post-show I saw really made me wish Tessitore was a commentator himself

 

I do still expect Charlotte to get the title and get to 15 before or at Summerslam. Still holding into my "Charlotte is gonna get to 16 like her dad at WM42" prediction.

 

They just announced both Heyman and Cena will be on McCaffey's show tomorrow. They said "Cena will be there win or lose" but you don't usually do media like that as a heel if you're a loser.

 

These Mania retrospectives during the pre-show highlighting HBK/Razor at X as one of the best WM matches ever when it wasn't even the best match on that card. Bret/Owen all day.
