I will forever think one of the biggest “fuck you” / “fuck off” moments in at least the last 10 years, maybe ever if I’m feeling real spicy, is having Austin Theory cash in on the goddamn United States championship and lose.

There is a way I think it could be done to have a MitB winner not go after one of the two main belts but they certainly didn’t do that with Theory and it really seemed like Triple H just wanting to get that away from him so he didn’t even have to be bothered with having him on tv anymore lol

Like, you pull that kind of swerve in maybe a heated blood feud like Punk and McIntyre had last year. Make it less about wanting to be the top guy and instead embarrassing the guy you hate even if it’s not the best route to go with MitB, but the entire Theory saga was hilariously dumb in the best way

 

I remember it was weird Covid/Thunderdome times and had something to do with Bobby Lashley because he gave him a title shot on Raw the next week and got obliterated I think. Was an unusual storyline but better than just randomly having someone show up to beat the champ who’s beaten up

may also be hard to remember because technically Otis won the MitB ladder match that year

 

They did Corbin pretty dirty too. And Sandow didn’t they?

yep and they both involved Cena fucking then over - while of course he’s a face! lol - Corbin more so since he lost to Jinder, Cena just distracted him for the roll up (I think) whereas Sandow had an actual “match” against Cena (I think, idk why this stupid shit stays kinda in my memory and not important things)

I just like the entire presentation and his "devil behind your shoulder" concept. Idk about his actual wrestling but its something a little different.

Anyways, my question, does tonight's matches really start at 6pm? Or is it typical precard stuff and matches around 730? If it starts at 6pm then I imagine it ends before 10pm which would be amazing. But im expecting a typical 7-11 PLE

 

They should've just done a segment on Monday where he cracks Punk over the head with one of his crutches and then cashes in. You could then at least play up the idea that Rollins surprised him. There was no point in doing a fake injury angle where he cashes in in the exact same manner he would have otherwise; there was no purpose/benefit to faking the injury.

You are 1000% not wrong that it made no sense. Thats why I would've done masked attacker scenario...and THEN he drops the crutches.

(Fuck it I'll go full circle and have the attacker be Zayn and even say Kross got to him after all. You get Kross, Zayn, and Rollins faction over....but thats fantasy booking baby)

But your idea is also way better too. Doing it on raw instead of summerslam is also more of a shock than ppv proper

Nah it was like 3.5 hours if I’m not mistaken. Definitely no longer than 4. It started at 5 my time and was done by like 8:30

 

Huge pet peeve with the wwe right now. Every match HAS to at least be 15 minutes....no variation at all. I agree. When I saw 6 matches for 3 hours im like ugh
