Absolutely. I think its only gotten worse with age, he gets gassed fast, a 30 minute non gimmick match is gonna expose that big time.

So this has been the case for a while now but the tripe h/current booking..... nothing is necessarily bad. Its just lots and lots of meh. It feels all by thr numbers and they give you some sort of surprise...but even that tends to feel samesies lately. Nothing happened on summerslam that was particularly THAT interesting. Not terrible but just.... safe.

Even the Rollins fakeout injury stuff ended up being a surprise ruiner. If they hadnt worked the injury to pretend he was gonna be out for a year, it'd have been less obvious he was gonna cash in last night

To make things more interesting. I would have done what they did but had a masked character attack Punk and then Rollins does his thing. And run a who was it angle and/or add another member to Rollins group. I think the Rollins group is rhe epitome of what I mean about the wwe right now. His group is......okay. its a nice vehicle for Bron Breaker but am I tuning in weekly to see what kind of antics his group is up to? Not really at all. It needs pizzazz and heat.

I really enjoyed the Jelly Roll match lol, that's about it.

 

Mega quick review

Roman/jey vs bron/reed. 2/5. As "ok" as it gets. Think the outcome was boring.

Womens tag. 2.5/5. I dont have cable and dont watch smackdown. Charlotte looks soooooooo awkward right now. Is she okay ? She looks like she has 0 confidence right now. I dont get what this duo is supposed to be. Giving her and alexa and the titles is right call because I like Alexa and her having the tag belts means she'll be on raw more.....and match was decent. Im a bit surprised because I 100% assumed they were gonna do a thing where Liv comes back and wants her title belt (and theres obviously friction for everyone....unless liv is really hurt and not coming back for a while)

Sami vs Kross. 2.5/5. Match was good but WRONG FUCKING GUY WON. Jesus. This killed the night for me. This Kross character has legs, LET HIM GET A WIN! Hate hate this.

Tiffany vs Jade. 2/5. Jade's star has fallen and Tiffamy carried the match. Surprised they didn't switch the belts but I get why lol Tiffany face turn was still too soon but shes still over. She's a great talent imo but I think the womes division is being unnecessarily spread too thin.

Celebrity tag. 3.5/5. At least it was interesting/entertaining. I know he's a piece of shit but Logan Paul is a great heel im sorry

Cm punk vs Gunther. 4/5. I love Gunther. Punk is Punk. Match wasn't super pure (those power bombs at the end were something) but Gunther is great and such an asset for the WWE.

Cash in ending. Again. Very okay. I think it was done well and rollins having the belt as the leader of the top faction makes super sense but I think this group needs something more (becky)

Some fun wrestling trivia after last night.

Punk becomes the first wrestler to win the AEW championship and then (a) WWE championship.

Technically Punk is also the first wrestler to win a WWE championship, then the AEW championship and then a WWE championship again.

Also thought that Rollins becomes the second person to cash in two Money in the Banks, after Punk did it, and by beating Punk no less but forgot that Edge has done this twice - and the Miz twice as well! Forgot that’s how Miz won both (and to date, only) his WWE championships (which is its own piece of trivia)

 

I honestly cannot remember the Miz second win… I refuse to acknowledge this existed. Every time someone brings it up I feel like I’m being gaslit

 

After looking this up, I see it was an 8 day reign in 2021. Makes sense why I don’t remember although I also don’t remember him having MitB either. Crazy that he is not only a grand slam champion but the first 2 time one at that.
