Man I know I'm getting old, but Emo Fight's first match starting at damn near midnight is insanity.

 

I just started watching, that Effy DJ stuff was horrible but seeing Bad Luck playing there is so cool

 

Yeah, I like Effy but that was hard to watch.

I had never heard of Bad Luck before this, but they were pretty cool. Will be checking out more of their stuff.

 

I saw them 2 times in the past year or so, once opening for Emery and once for Further Seems Forever. They have one song I really like but they didn't do it live.

Edit: They ended up using the song I like for the opening package so all good

 

One thing I learned tonight is Jellyroll is in better shape than CM Punk

 

Same thing was probably true back when he was in AEW

 

Is it just me or did Punk/Gunther feel kinda sloppy? Not just Punk either. A lot of Gunther's stuff didn't look great, which is surprising.

 

She's gonna go down as the funniest AEW->WWE move precisely because WWE was so petty about it. She got the TMZ level treatment, main roster immediately, etc...had she been treated like Ethan Page or Ricky Saints (NXT for 6+ months, maybe even her first year and called up for like a War Games or Rumble), we wouldnt even bat an eye that she's flopping. But they drew the spotlight to her AND gave her these title stories, and she's honestly somehow worse than when she left AEW.

 

She might not even be flopping if she went down to NXT

 

I mostly liked that Punk/Gunther match, but also it probably should have been a gimmick match that let them work stiffer/use more blood because it was worked in a slower/more brutal way. Punk does really well in the dog collar/HIAC/etc type matches, but in just a standard match against a dude who never works a top rope move, there's nothing dynamic there. It kind of all came together once Gunther bladed.

Yes, but probably the Night 1 main, instead of the Night 2, since Cody;s probably got that role locked down still

 

Oh, at this point its not a lack of time/training. She did that "I signed with WWE" thing and had 6 months before the Rumble. Got like an entire year before she was in a non-tag story, and worked on nothing that I can see in the ring. Im not a huge Tiffy fan, but pretty wild to thing how much she carried Jade in that match despite having like 3-4 years of experience. Shit, Jelly Roll was better about working the camera and thinking about what he was selling.

 

Jelly Roll sucked and looked like shit, yall dont gotta hand it to a dude who lost some weight and laid on a table w all the worlds time and resources lol

 

Thought night 1 was mostly boring

 

The Rollins cash in would have been more impactful if he didn't already have a much better cash in moment over a decade ago.

 

Seth's music shoulda hit the second CM Punk made contact with the belt

 

I mean the brightside is there is no way night 2 can be any worse than night 1...

 

TBH I don't care that much about any of the matches tonight other than Cena/Cody II, and I mainly only care about that because I want to see if a swerve happens.

 

The tag match will be insane but yeah I don’t care about any of the other matches

 

The fucking marks online acting as if this cash in was as good as the first.

 

Until the celeb interference during the main event is Trump

I am going to go ahead and say it: I think Cody is turning heel tonight. I kinda don't want it right now, I don't think it's the right timing for it, but I think they're going to do it.

To me turning Cena back babyface so abruptly is either to set up a ruse to double down on him being a heel or it's so they can turn Cody. I just can't see a scenario where this street fight starts and ends as a white meat babyface v whitemeat babyface. Feels too weird for there not to be something else going on.

 

tonight is certainly the stronger card. Summerslam main events get like a magic buff and usually even the worst ones on paper turn out a banger, but i am afraid that if Cody/Cena stays double babyface they're gonna overbook the shit out of it w outside run ins so there is something to boo. they basically have one match to save and justify the last few months
