Considering how good DoN was; and this has basically just ramped all that up, yeah, its been good. Shaping up to be an all-timer of a PPV.

Still crazy over and MJF being added has made the angle fresher...to the point that its kind of killed the tag division because who's gonna beat them? But it seems obvious at some point MJF costs them and Lashley buries him.

Okada looked godly in his last few matches though, and Kenny's basically averaging 5* a match this year. Probably not possible to top that 7* match, but that was also 7 years ago...so is anyone really comparing it to that?

MF'ers at work decided a 6:30-8:30pm prep dinner for our week was a good thing on Saturday night. Do they not understand thats gonna be right when Okada/Omega and Hangman/Mox go off?

That whole Hanger/Swerve backstage segment just further prove that those 2 are probably the best talents AEW have.

Jetspeed tag team champs would be insane.

but I would also love to see The Outrunners with a tag title reign so bad.

I have to admit I hated the Costco guys at first but they kinda grew on me. It's nice to see an old school face vs heel match. I still don't get the hype around that Rizzler kid, though.

I wouldn't mind FTR added ro the match, although I thought maybe The Von Erichs would have been a cool surprise.

I'm guessing FTR lays Christian after the match and then Adam Copeland returns to get revenge on them and start the angle for FTR VS Cope/Christian.

    Just a friendly reminder

Ridiculous that we are blessed with this Kidd/Shibata match on a Thursday night.

Probably has surpassed Kenny/Hangman as AEW's best feud too.

That's some big fucking shoes to fill but then I'm reminded of the All Out 2024 blood fest they had and the whole burning of the house arc and good God was that perfection.

LOL maybe one day we will find out why Aminata hates Thekla so much. She is still stiffing her bad.

The Aminata/Thekla feud better run for a while. Those two absolutely kill each other and I love it.

    Its two things for me.

1: Its entirely an AEW thing. So much of Kenny/Hangman is residual stuff from The Elite before AEW. Kennys the Ace, Hangmans a dude in the group, etc. Whereas Swerve/Hangman is built entirely within AEW. And a lot was built on BTE, which I didnt see originally and only caught cause someone made that Hangman doc.

    2. The story beats almost run contrary to how wrestling feuds are supposed to go. Swerve beats him, breaks into his house, cheats to beat him at his signature match...all deeply heel shit...and yet becomes even bigger and THE top face of the company after it. And Hangman goes off the deep end heel (manically laughing at costing him a #1 contendership in the draw, burning his house down and trying to end his career with the chair shot, etc)...and becomes THE top face of the company after it. Cant remember an arc like it for one guy (even Romans heel turn hasnt resulted in him being WWE's top face 4+ years in), let alone 2 guys in concert with one another

That's one of the things i love, that AEW has been able to capitalize on the storied history of these people and not only make OG fans hype but they also introduce the stories to brand new audiences. Just look at Omega/Okada. Sure, it could just be a story of two titles being unified, but the fact it's THESE two people, and THEIR history makes it more then just that. And sure if you want to go deep enough then someone could do research the matches but I have to hand it to AEW, that little vignette they did the other week showing the history was very good and I'm sure that made new viewers want to dig deeper and watch their old stuff. I think AEW is in a very good situation with the relationships they have that they're able to produce storylines that spam decades across different companies. The material is rich.

And well said about Hangers/Swerve being this weird outlier of what works as intended because I don't even know if Tony had anticipated how the crowd would resonate with those decisions. Swerve could have been someone like Mox, a heel that we're just tired of, but noooo people LOVED him.

That's why I'm looking forward to what we they do with Will. Yes, he's got history with people prior to his actual signing to AEW but I see him being around for a looong time so I see him growing in different directions and being so much more.

As good as current AEW is, I'm always excited for the future because they keep one upping themselves and they've proven they deserve the benefit of the doubt. As much as I haven't been a fan of the Death Riders angle, it's making Hanger's story all the more interesting and giving him more support from the fans.

That is a big part of it, but truthfully they are just chasing their own tails on almost every storyline right now. It’s the same thing over and over and I almost guarantee it all results in Cena Rhodes
