I thought this sounded fine at first in a vacuum, but it's really terrible the longer I've thought about it. Virtually every women's star in wwe that has ever *made it* has had a first name that could stand on its own: Becky, Bayley, Sasha, Charlotte, Tiffany, Bianca, Trish, Lita, etc.

Blake doesn't work on its own. It doesn't jive well with the gimmick, there's nothing 'glamour'-evoking about it. You can't envision it on a marquee. Commentary is likely going to refer to her as Monroe more often than not anyway. All those things being equal, I could make the case they should've just swapped the names around.

The name is fine, some people are far too hung up on wrestling names. We had a Dolph Ziggler as a world heavyweight champ 15 years ago (or whenever it was), everything after that has been more than ok.

I mean NXT does have some pretty bad women’s names. Looking at you Brinley Reece, Wren Sinclair, Tatum Paxley, and Fallon Henley.

but on the flip side the more they say them the more you get used to them and it doesn’t really matter anyway.

 

They all just sound like standard American names to me haha
