The fact that they are talking about Truth like he died tells you everything. Sucks about Carlito too.

Carlito makes sense; super random he was brought back in the first place, and the second Judgement Day breaks up, he's got nowhere logical to go.

This is what is so weird; they got more TV in their deals. Evolve, NXT, SD, RAW, SNME...and Smackdown is staying at 3hrs still. They have legit 10hrs to fill most weeks, they actually need a huge roster.

Wouldnt shock me if Truth didnt want to be a producer, and if they do it similar to Braun where they're basically cutting him to bring him back in a per appearance type deal...but, I dunno...sign that renewal before you release the guy. So odd

Its worth it just for a Hurt Business/MJF/Truth segment alone. Like he thinks MJF is Cedric or something. Shit, give me Truth + AJ + Big Justice at All In

Truths the kind of dude that might actually pop a rating or move some fans over simply because he's built SOOOO much good will.

Just make Truth the new exalted one of DO.

Him and John Silver together would be comedy gold

  9. what if firing Truth is the breaking point for a lot of people in WWE?

(from the cage side seat rumor roundup)

    • Fightful Select notes that R-Truth being let go by WWE has been met with “complete shock and disbelief” and top talent disagreeing completely with the decision.
    • They also say he’s already got a ton of interest from independent promotions the world over.
    • Truth himself was caught off guard when WWE called him to inform him his contract would not be renewed, says PW Insider.
    • To that end, they also say other WWE stars are rethinking their own contracts with the company, as they believe things are more unstable than they realized and want to get out ahead of any pending contract expiration dates.

I highly doubt it. Yes, he's a beloved member of the roster, but it's the nature of the beast. It sucks, but it always sucks. No offence to Truth, but some people's partners have been released and they still stay with the company.

I truly like, do not get how people are still so invested in what wwe produces. bad company, bad production, bad sponsorships, bad commentators. it's wild to me

They’ve been around for years and it’s the default brand many grew up on. As someone who also grew up with watching WCW, ECW, TNA, ROH, I’ve never understood the allegiance to any one company and just watch whatever looks good to me, however I understand that for some WWE is all they know. As someone who loved WWE until about 2008, I get it.

yeah for sure - comfort food I guess

not trying to cast judgment, like what you like, but I just can't imagine myself ever tuning into a full raw or smackdown again

Yeah, me either. For me the production is just too glossy and phony. Makes it hard for me to suspend my disbelief. That coupled with the endless commercials during PLE’s that leads to horrible pacing kills it for me. Like if they had the production of 2000-2005 WWE, I’d probably watch it more. A 3-3.5 hour WWE show goes by way slower than a 4.5 hour AEW PPV lol

we missed the trees glow gold beneath.

my relationship w The Federation basically turned into stockholm syndrome after a while. i'll still look back on eras of that company very fondly and will go back and watch them when their media rights aren't all over the place. but it's never been easier for me to disconnect from it than it is right now. constant allegiance with human scum, constantly releasing beloved people despite being a billion dollar company, gestures wildly at the relationship with saudi arabia. it's much easier to just support individual wrestlers from afar who are on the right side of history than the actual company which is somehow going in reverse morally.

also, triple h just fucking sucks, man.

Yeah, HHH within the last 2 years as an an executive is getting to the point of 2003-2004 HHH as far as my hatred of him goes. Dude always wishes he was The Rock/Stone Cold when he is always a step below and shoved down our throats.

  23. AEW is likely the only reason we aren’t seeing paycuts across the board in WWE.

UFC talent is paid like ass because there’s no alternative anymore. And I’m sure TKO would love the WWE to be able to operate like that on the talent side. We’ve already seen it with ticket prices

yeah like obviously they've always done releases but something about the "record profits, record gates, record attendance, also we're firing 3-5 people every 6 weeks" is just gross

especially firing guys that should be lifers who have constantly stuck their necks out for the company. it just makes no fucking sense.
