Kinda feels like a double dynamite taping tonight than a PPV Double or Nothing. Like I’m sure Ospreay/Hangman and Okada/Speedball will be a set of all timers, but the rest of the card, even the Anarchy part, seems ho hum to this die hard AEW fan. I guess All In has always been what they’re building to for story payoffs this year.

 

I do agree that outside of the Owen Hart matches and Anarchy, the rest of the card feels a bit thrown together/a really good Dynamite. It’s very top heavy, but as we all know AEW usually brings it regardless for PPV and this show has stuff that will directly build to All In. Feels similar to the Elimination Chamber leading to Mania.

I do wish the Paragon/Don Callis Family match was instead a Takeshita or Fletcher v Cole match or something more definitive.

But FTR v Garcia/Nigel, Speedball/Okada, Mercedes/Hayter, Ospreay/Hangman, and anarchy have all been building for months. And Im actually genuinely curious what they do with the Hurt Syndicate tag/what MJF does during it.

Briscoe/Ricochet also has fun ass spotfest potential

Yeah, I mean, Toni/Mariah hollywood ending is maybe at that level of anticipation for me, but, I also was 99% certain Toni was winning. Here, I legit have no idea AND its gonna be the dude who dethrones Mox, so the excitement is high.

Great example. I agree. I am ok with Double or Nothing being a bridge show going forward. Just felt special the first 2 or 3 years because it was the very first AEW PPV not named All In 2018. Should be a fun time tonight! Hope everyone enjoys it.
