Honestly the most fascinating what-if of the whole thing. If they could have gotten him, they keep D'Amore and all that good will and there's probably a lot less talent that walks. And considering how tied in Ospreay was to Impact, not even crazy to think he goes there instead with all the extra money a CM Punk brings in.

 

I mean, sure, just kinda odd for him to have 2 matches post-WM, both end in DQ, and now he's getting wrapped up in the other brands belt story? Legit forgot he was facing Logan at this though...so it makes the MITB match make more sense.

MITB after Summerslam is probably way smarter than where they had it before. Makes it way easier to carry the briefcase for a couple months into War Games...or even into, say, the Rumble timeframe. Whereas the gap between MITB and Summerslam was always a weird time filled with the briefcase winning just scuffling for relevancy.
