I think, regardless of what it shows, the footage from All In will be funny and I’m happy to see it for the lols.

But showing it on your weekly flagship television show as part of an angle, or worse, not part of an angle, is kind of proving Punk’s “not a serious company” line right.

It can’t accomplish anything. The Bucks are heels, and Jack Perry presumably will be, too. If they’re the guys standing up for AEW in the face of big bad CM Punk, who works for the enemy, who is the babyface here?

 

I mean, they are working heels in a caricature of whats been reported about them during those incidents (EVPs in name only, self-important thinking those roles actually matter, etc). They just aligned with the other guy who is now a caricature of the last incident. The footage aligns perfectly with those roles, and if they play it mostly straight, its classic "heel who, even when they are 'right' is still a deluded narcissist". Its like MJF telling the bullying story just to get CM Punk to let his guard down for a good old fashioned dick kick.

If its not a comedy/BTE style bit, I hope they go all Zapruder footage with it

Honestly, looking at the card, nearly every match could be hilariously overbooked. CM Punk at the announce table for Drew/Seth. The street fight is inherently overbooked. Logan/KO/Randy surely has some celebrity interference. Iyo/Bayley and Roman/Cody are both factional interference. LA/AJ might be the only straight up match

 

last night's main event did remind me how much i enjoy some occasional dumb overbooked wwe spectacle in small doses (and especially at mania), so i can't wait to see what absolute bullshit they pull tonight
