So, went down a rabbit hole earlier...Blue Panther lost his mask like 2yrs before Bryan Daniels even was on that NXT game show iteration. So, gotta imagine his kayfabe is even more hilarious than Rey, where the mask obviously matters in the ring (for Lucha reasons), but he's like 15 years into not giving an actual damn about it.

 

Zelina has always been in that right mix of "solid in the ring for 5min matches, but god help you if you're booking her as a champ" level worker. But she's SOOOO natural on the mic that using her as anything more than a manager who gets her comeuppance seems wrong. Mixed tags, eating a pin to give the babyface faction some retribution, etc.

 

AEW has a decently long list of people that fit that Zelina category btw; they obviously used Brandon Cutler, Mark Sterling, QT Marshall, and a few others in that way...but like, Chuck Taylor's kinda in that category. Obviously Danhausen is there. John Silver is too good in the ring, but, him as Anna Jays manager (in a Brodie King/Julia Hart vibe) might have kept them both from their current purgatory. Kinda feels like one of Ruby Soho/Angelo Parker is gonna end up there too
