so it seems like they’re gonna have Bo sort of take up the mantle? That’s really cool and I hope it goes well

 

Randomly thinking about the Guest Host era of Raw… who’s idea was that shit lol

 

yeah looks that way. that’s interesting. seeing a lot of people shit on it but I’m definitely interested to see how it plays out

 

it makes sense that Bo would pick it up since Bray wanted to leave a legacy - get Alexa involved and it could work

 

Vince and co. It started off as a one-off thing that was well received so Vince decided that it should be permanent. The writers hated it. Gewirtz talks about it a fair amount in his book. It led to the even worse anonymous GM stint, which the writers also loathed.

A good portion of the latter half of his book is just explaining how the writers were trying to salvage anything decent out of Vince's garbage truck of ideas and proclivities.

Post-Ruthless Aggression through pre-NXT black and gold reboot WWE is some of the worst wrestling television ever produced. A dark, dark time.

 

Truly one of the worst timelines. All those guest hosts and maybe not even five of those were memorable/good.

 

It's why I think John Cena's legacy as one of the greatest of all time is complicated. He was the marquee for one of the worst stretches in WWE history that also saw massive downturns in business, poor mainstream assimilation and acceptance and just record low fan morale.

Most of that wasn't his fault, but it's still his to own. It's kind of a curse and a testament to his own charisma, really. He managed to become a household name in spite of WWE being widely seen as a massive joke throughout the majority of his full time run.

This doc is great but it’s also annoying me how WWE creative (aka Vince) fucked up his push so many times

 

Mania weekend, I’ve had ti explain to my wife that it’s two nights several times now lol. No plans!

 

Whenever they started saying “WWE Universe” is when I tapped out for awhile.

It's such a bummer we'll never get to see what a Vince-free Bray would've been capable of, creatively. I thought that final run was starting to meander pretty badly and I began questioning if it would work, but I'd still have given him the benefit of the doubt for a while.

 

thankfully Starks himself confirmed he’s fine and got a stinger from that pele kick from Darius Martin.

 

I hope Taylor has huge success with uncle howdy
