I mean, there's not a lot of guys in AEW that are gonna jump ship back to WWE and make a difference at this point...not when KO/Sami/LA Knight/etc are stuck in the midcard.

Awesome for Spears though; going back as Dillinger would have been death (see: the "10" chants that started up). Coming in as a heel and shitting all over that should give him some juice for a bit.

I'd worry more that they dont have the juice to get signed...I mean, as AEW jobbers who got new characters go, we only have to look to Lexis King. They didnt go grab Pretty Peter Avalon or Leva Bates or another dozen or so AEW jobbers who went to per-appearance deals.

Dillinger was super over in NXT originally, and serves a purpose now (trainer with ties to his wrestling school, etc). Doubly so if they can ever get the IIconics back.

there are worse horror stories but the biz did wrong by Virgil. i hope the social media team that made Virgil's memeability into product made sure he was taken care of and he got to enjoy the last stages of his career as it were. never seen the dude work a match but making fun of his hustle back in the day feels awfully small w hindsight

This is the most I've ever enjoyed the Young Bucks and I don't think it's particularly close.

 

Especially since his gimmick was a literal slave to a very wealthy individual.
