I need a new hobby and decided to start watching wrestling when Raw comes to Netflix. But I see on Peacock the latest episode was December 18th even though I read it’s every Monday. Are they on break or do episodes not get on Peacock right away?

there's like a 28 or 30 day delay before it goes to Peacock/hulu I believe

@xapplexpiex wwe usually does a pretty solid job of uploading full segments of their weekly shows on youtube as well, that may be a good starting point

the best thing about wrestling is that there's almost literally something for everyone, so if there's something you dislike about it, you can absolutely find alternative companies

the monthly ppv/live events are also good about filling in the blanks from the weekly shows with video recaps

Hulu has what you're looking for. They have the latest episodes of RAW, Smackdown, and NXT.

if you think you may want more kinda whacky character stuff, NXT airs every tuesday night on USA but will be moving to The CW at some point. that's @wade 's favorite program I think

  13. i would imagine there won't be a delay on netflix for raw once the deal starts because there won't be the weird NBC broadcast rights stuff

Biggest thing I noticed with the Netflix announcement is that nowhere in there is "Monday Night" attached to Raw. That's always been part of the IP, so it seems to suggest we may see a day change, which would be pretty crazy.

It's legitimately the best place to start for a new fan so your timing is impeccable lol. Kicks off the build to Wrestlemania in April, its the biggest time of year for WWE.

And yeah, RE: AEW attendance numbers, I think anyone watching the product the last several months has had to notice that it looks pretty awful. They do their best to cover the right angles, but when your buildings are that empty, it becomes nearly impossible.

You can hear it, too. So often, I'll be watching Dynamite or Collision and it sounds like they're in a studio rather than an arena. It's not a good look. They're not great a mic'ing their crowds anyway, so when it's that barren, the issue is exasperated even more.

It's just a cold product all around. All the Internet hype and flag-waving doesn't change that. It's a shell of what it was a couple of years ago. I think the PPV numbers and ratings are good enough for now to keep them chugging along without much issue, but I don't know how long that's sustainable, especially if WWE continues to build goodwill like they have been since Triple H took over.

Just to make sure you're both aware, the Royal Rumble is on Saturday. I agree that is a great place to start though. My favorite WWE event of the year!

I don’t think the product is super cold and the build towards Revolution is actually very promising. Lots of building to the point where we know more than half of the card more than 5 weeks out. That’s much better than they have been the last 6-9 months. If they can just get by until Osperay arrives and guys get healthy they will be just fine. Imagine how things are gonna be when PAC, Bandido, Omega, Cole and MJF are all healthy. Three of their top acts are injured right now and Joe is doing a great job filling the void given the circumstances.

Yeah the build towards this PPV is already immensely better than the one for World's End. I'm expecting a great PPV.

I agree that they're doing a much better job working toward Revolution than they traditionally do with PPVs. I get that they have a lot of top guys out, but the attendance issue pre-dates that, really. It's been a slowly developing trend for the last couple of years and it seems relatively impervious to health status.

I do think who is and isn't there in and of itself could be a contributing factor, though, and why (in addition to slashing ticket prices) they do better in the final week of sales and on walk-ups, since by that point they've advertised most or all of the card. AEW is now structured in a way that it's pretty unpredictable as to who you may see on a weekly episode of Dynamite. Will that guy be rerouted to Collision this week? Is he just missing? There's more variables than there used to be, and I think that probably weighs on people's minds more than it used to, when you could pretty much rest assured that 80-90% of the top guys would appear.

KP was awful. Graves had to walk him through everything because he didn't know how to call matches.

Also only 4 matches total including both rumbles. Usually they throw in another title match somewhere.
