I don't know if this was intentional, but the bill of his cap casting a shadow over his face is a great visual

Also like that they decided to not do a gear/music change because that would be giving fans what they want. Having Cena be heel looking like the same John Cena kinda works more.

WWE is now part of the Collective. Not sure how I feel about it, the whole point of it is to be an alternative to WWE during Mania week and now they are joining forces.

 

Yeah I could care less about that. WWE ID thing is incredibly forced and integrating it into the collective is lame compared to the partnerships GVW does with indie companies.

 

I feel like WWE and GCW always had this sort of weird relationship but not at an official level like this

 

I know they're just killing time til after WM to probably push both together...but an extended feud with Ludwig Kaiser is a HILARIOUS waste of how over he was on his debut. Like imagine debuting Speedball and he spends 2 months facing QT Marshall and Aaron Solo.

Hell, as much as WWE loves DQs, run a Penta v Bronn match tonight instead, let them rip it for 10-15mins, and then have Finn end the match in DQ and run both a Bronn/Finn and Penta/Finn match the next few weeks. Not like they're doing anything with Finn anyway, and he's a far more interesting opponent

 

Sorry, but that’s a silly comparison. Ludvig Kaiser is not even remotely comparable to QT Marshall or Aaron Solo. Whilst he hasn’t won anything major, he’s been a regular on Raw now for nearly 2 years. Have either of those two been on either of AEWs two shows for the same period?

You mention Finn, but if it wasn’t for that meaningless tag run last year, he’d be far closer to those two than Kaiser IMO. Kaiser will be a champion within the next year IMO.

 

Evolution lasted only two years but it felt like five. Judgement Day has somehow only been around for three years when it feels like eight.

 

Kaiser is one of their best midcarders right now. He has been excellent since the soft split from Gunther.

 

Fine, make it Bryan Keith then; like, would you be happy if a major AEW signing immediately entered the Jericho Vortex and had 3 matches with Bryan Keith and also had multiple matches with, like, Nick Wayne (not sure who in AEW is in the right jobber level of Dunne). Ricochet debuted in AEW's equivalent of a Rumble, faced 3 completely different dudes, one of whom was Kyle Fletcher right before he beat Ospreay, and his 5th match was Ospreay.

Hadnt seen that he cut a promo wanting the IC title, thats a welcome development. But trotting him out against guys who lose 90% of their matches isnt how you build credibility no matter how good a guy's character is.

Shit, even Shelton Benjamin debuted, had 2 matches you'd expect he'd win, then faced Swerve. Losing that match didnt hurt him one bit. Its why I cant watch WWE week to week, they take 2-3 months to even move something one step forward

 

The closest thing Kaiser gets to a championship is the Speed title.

His last non-DQ win on TV was June of last year when he beat an injured Sheamus. His last one before that was beating Ciampa around November 2023.

 

Ill also admit I didnt realize Kaiser had that run last fall where he seems to have had a few legit matches; I saw him at a house show around then and he was jobbing to Sami pretty quick and then he was in the Rumble for like 5 seconds...so, he's not regularly presented as even a midcard dude. Thats lowcard enhancement stuff.

 

Soooo nice not having to hear macafeee. The wwe product is super decent right now, they don't need to force macafee. He's awful

 

If Ripley wasn't so over....she'd probably be the heel in this scenario. Lol like she really isn't justified in kayfabe at all. Bianca didn't interfere in her match really...and Ripley sounds like a whiner forcing herself into the match
