They have an opt-out clause at the 5 year mark, and an opt-in for an additional 10 years.

So, while they can't just cancel it for giggles like they do with a lot of more successful stuff, they can walk away halfway through the deal.

 

If anyone wanted some old joshi wrestling to watch, we found this YouTube channel yesterday and have been playing this on another screen while streaming the live shows. Pretty good stuff.

It seems pretty likely (at least reportedly) that Netflix is gonna add some form of the UFCs content and they’re gonna be paying way more a year for UFC than WWE. It wouldn’t shock me if Netflix exercised the opt out after 5 years

 

I also disagree with the notion that the product is going to become more outwardly political/right leaning. The PR this week is awful, but it's not really anything that anyone deep in the product either didn't already know or couldn't make an educated guess on. It's also just a bunch of blips in an incredibly crowded news cycle that I'd bet the majority of fans won't even see.

Khan is very much aware that the pro wrestling audience skews left and that there is minimal overlap between it and UFC (13%, if I remember correctly.)

Cynically, I think the people in high places are emboldened because of the state of the country, are cognizant of the aforementioned facts, know it won't hurt them, and so they just simply don't give a shit.

Whats the general consensus on the Mania cards and build up?

I've been very loosely following, I subbed to F4W again this month just to listen to Brian and Dave talk about some of the stuff.

I am truly intrigued by the Charlotte/ Stratton stuff, that's gonna be interesting.

Main events look good, other matches look like they can be fun.

 

ehhhh I think a lot of people were down on the build up. couple matches look fun.

then a lot of people got down on it as a whole when the entire PR this week has been a nightmare
