wwe runs those huge stadiums now for the ppvs but they were also running house shows like 5 nights a week selling out arenas all across the country in addition to tv in the late 90s which is absolutely nuts

 

media is just incomparable as a whole from now to then though, so its never gonna be the same IMO

 

i feel so hyped about the world title scene in AEW EXCEPT FOR THE MF CHAMPION!!!!!!! blah...........

My biggest gripe about wrestling today are the dirt sheets, like I respect SRS and those guys but I feel like it’s taken out the element of surprise.

 

i agree with this a bit, I really only see that stuff on reddit or here but it can be a little tough to unplug sometimes

i was at both astrodome shows. first one used the entire floor. second was about halfway tapered off. i think that had the sting/rick steiner cage match.

i believe they also ran the cajundome in lafayette, la too.

 

Jeff Cobb as Gable's lucha killer could be a lot of fun.

Damn, I thought Jeff Cobb to AEW was a given. Hell of a signing tbf to WWE, bet they offered quite the bag.

 

Didn’t he show up briefly or was like teased but then never showed?

 

He wrestled a few matches. One against Moxley when he was feuding with the inner circle for sure. Then probably in some forbidden door builds

 

jeff cobb is awesome, stoked to see another local guy get a phat contract

 

There were rumors a few months ago he was headed to AEW. Same time the Speedball and Josh Alexander rumors started.
