If A24 really wanted the movie to be even more depressing they should've brought in The Haxan Cloak for the soundtrack.

 

So seems like Punk probably thought he didn't actually need AEW. He could act like a diva, thinking that the worst thing that could happen if AEW fired him is he'd just come back to WWE and because he's CM Punk they'd clearly want him back no questions and he could prove AEW wrong for getting rid of him. As his non-complete clause with AEW winds down he plants rumors of his return to WWE to try and build hype and show the demand for him but turns out some bridges stay burned

So now he's massively overplayed his hand and has basically no good options left because he's not stooping to Impact or the indie circuit and he's burned bridges now with Tony too so unless like, the Saudis want to get someone to put on an indie show for them featuring CM Punk...

 

They finally have for maybe the first time something resembling a functioning work environment. Bringing in Punk at this point would be like Oliver showing up as soon as Ryan and Marissa are getting along.
