This heel turn arc is gonna be great, but Cena's road to redemption arc inbetween Summerslam and Survivor Series is gonna be better. No way he's retiring a heel.

 

^ right and that to me is the only knock, aka why this isn't on the same level of Hogan.

This is a very wink wink, we are doing this as a temporary shock just to do it once before he retires and we all understand this is temporary.

The moment was fun and the actual moment was executed excellently. But the proceeding promos are gonna be key to see what level of great this is long term. It sets up a very excellent mania main event at the very least

 

Also, rock was holding up two fingers as two more could be next to join him.

Also, my final point about comparing this to Hogan and why it's not that level

A) Hogan wasn't retiring. It was the jump start of a whole new long term era for him, which made it that much more impactful.

B) Hogan turning heel was more believable if that makes sense. Hogan being self centered, Hollywood, big ego, controlling....I mean thats kinda what he really is anyways. His goody two shoes persona was getting old and was the more far fetched character. Cena is literally Mr. MAKE A WISH LOL like it'll be a fun little run as a character but I'm sure we're gonna have to do a lot of suspension of disbelief to get there
