Wow! When Vince came back, the stated purpose of his return was to lead the company through its transition in getting acquired and everyone said, "no, that's impossible, it's a corporate takeover to monopolize professional wrestling!"

But damn, he really pulled a fast one, looks like he returned...to lead the company through its transition in getting acquired

I don’t think this was his intended outcome as much as it was Ari’s

    Couple of easy answers

    1. When WWE is coming to my area (this was true in DC/Baltimore, but also again in Iowa), there's ads for every RAW/SD specifically targeting my venue...both when tickets went on sale, and again like a week or two out. I've never seen an AEW ticket sales ad, and they ran DC I think 4 separate times in a 2 year period, as well as 2-3 times in Baltimore.

    2. They gotta branch out geographically. Their Canada shows did really well (until they over-ran them). Their first UK sold out just on the hype of finally being in the UK. But when they run Cincy, then Dayton, then Columbus, then Cincy again in a year...or 10 shows in Chicago...its diminishing returns. WWE's running Omaha tonight, Des Moines in 2 months...AEW hasnt hit either city yet (and either 4hrs to Minneapolis or 6hrs to Indy is as close as they've come)

Truthfully, AEW's touring schedule is insane, considering they were on the road one day a week for 2.5-3yrs, and yet they'd run as if they were WWE running 4 shows a week and keep hitting Texas 3 weeks in a row

I mean TKO is definitely a corporate takeover to monopolize professional wrestling. If you look at what they have done with the UFC and the regional MMA scene over the last 6 years it’s not hard to believe they would try the same thing with the professional wrestling industry. They are much more of a threat to AEW than WWE was before the sale.

Yeah AEW needs to stop doing the same markets so close together and spread things out. They also need to stop doing Collision in the same city as a PPV the night before. It’s over saturation and a lot of investment to ask from fans.

I’m waiting until the week of to buy my tickets for Dynamite next month. I know they will open up deals last minute. Gotta take advantage of the low sales while they last lol

It looks like they're getting better at that (LA shows around Full Gear aside)...but then I see they're running Pittsburgh for Collision one week and then Erie the next week...which is just impossibly dumb

Yeah that’s too close for markets that are so close together especially when one market is a B/C market. Whoever does their live event scheduling needs to do better. If it’s Jeff Jarrett he’s booking their shows like a TNA house show tour lol

The crazy thing about AEW is their ticket prices are insanely low and they still can’t sell tickets. All 200 level seats that a pretty good view are only $20-40 before fees. That’s cheaper than most indie shows. Hell a decent ticket to Prestige is $60-$100. It’s almost as if they’d be better off doing smaller venues and charging more for tickets but I’m sure the production needs to be in bigger arenas.

@wade are you going to go to the AEW show in Wichita? No idea how far that would be for you

Still hoping for an Oklahoma show in December but if one isn’t announced soon I’ll probably try Wichita

I always feel like the best Dynamites are in smaller venues like the one they did in DC around this time last year or in an off-the-board town like Charleston, WV.

randomly tuning in to Raw and then opening segment was great and felt fresh. i think Seth could stand to add a little more to his schtick, but a workhorse champ always works for me

genuinely no clue what that overrun could be, but it's probably the best call AEW could make. they are losing badly tomorrow, but they can use the ten minutes after to try for a real strong recovery next week. now let's see if NXT just does the same. im thinking it's plenty likely
