Couple things:

MJF is about to be a huge baby face. He is what CM Punk was 10 years ago. The anti authority character that fans love to cheer for.

Jericho essentially confirmed as much in his own presser. He said he talked to Max and was like dude you’re gonna be a huge baby face when you come back.

Either way, MJF is taking that belt at Grand Slam and he’s gonna have it for a long time.

 

I'm trying to find the clip, because in-story, they are not pretty clearly heels and would be mad about a potential rematch.

edit: Yeah, that's Swerve doing the heel act he's been doing. “You pay the bills man so you do what you gotta do…don’t be surprised when somebody get hurt. Are we done?”

They're definitely doing a "Swerve is fully heel, Keith Lee is a face that doesnt realize he's been corrupted" thing with the two of them...likely leading to their split

This is an odd one though. Especially when they were teammates a few weeks ago

did not watch the ppv yet but i will say that i absolutely did not expect to wake up to all this lol

overreacting to aew drama is pretty standard but the reactions i've seen feel warranted, shit's inexcusable and embarrassing for the whole company. punk's either gotta be reigned in or go before he tears the company apart.

 

He should lose at grand slam and then probably go away

 

I really hope Malakai Black is ok. That kiss to the crowd definitely seemed like a goodbye and not in a “I’m off to WWE” type way.

 

I don’t think any of us know shit, which doesn’t mean what we’ve been hearing isn’t concerning, but I also don’t care what anyone who isn’t in AEW thinks about it tbh. I’ll just see where AEW goes on tv, I don’t care about all these reports anymore.

Well yeah but he also had a fallout with the other EVPs and was outnumbered. If the other EVPs are on the same page then there’s a little more pressure. But of course they don’t have the final call

I'm curious what the ultimatum actually was. I assume it didn't have any weight behind it, but what did they want? "Tony, get Punk in line or I'm leaving"? Or did they want actual tangible things like Punk dropping the belt or getting fired
