Jungle boy got fucking worked tonight though

 

Punk going off on Colt, the EVPs, and Hangman lol. This guy is never happy.

 

Dante looked like a million bucks tonight. Yuta looked great too. So there are two great young candidates right out of the gun.

Not to mention you *want* MJF to have a nice long reign. There shouldn't be an obvious person to dethrone him from the start.

You can easily turn someone like Jungle Boy from a guy that got beat up by his best friend to a worthy champion contender over the next eight months. Hook, Starks, Darby, Dante, Yuta, Garcia.... any one of those guys could be built into a worthy contender, not to mention all the seasoned pros lying around like Swerve, Lee, Claudio, Buddy, Brody, Andrade...

If we had done a PPV card, I'd have SLAMMED the Hobbs was winning button. He absolutely needs the win, truthfully he's the perfect next opponent for Wardlow off the PPV...but I also expected the match to be more heated. Like, 10-12mins, Hobbs controls but also is in danger, etc.

 

yeah, you could've easily made Ricky look strong but ultimately Hobbs is just too much to overcome.

Same with Athena/Jade. I personally think Athena just should've won, or at the very least it was crystal clear that she was simply over powered by the baddies and not by Jade. But at the very least she should've gotten another 5 or so minutes.

 

Punks post show presser is going to be the talk of the show. Dude has absolutely lost it

 

Nah, neither guy has anywhere near the character build of the guys they burned off tonight. Like, they are move sets, not fully fleshed out people that can carry a show. Maybe you could get Yuta there...but, Jungle Boy has both a name he doesnt AND more build and they just cut his legs out.

That's fair, but, also a long reign this time of year might only be through say, Revolution. Win at Grand Slam and you get 2-3 big shows, Full Gear, and 2-3 more big shows by the time new years hits. And I don't want Jericho or Danielson or such to take the belt from him, which is what happens when no young guys are built to be there. Off this PPV, maybe Garcia has the forward momentum. Certainly Wardlow does and has the history. If you had a Hangman-level plan for Ricky Starks, sure.

But off this PPV, only Wardlow has any credibility

 

Also, my faith in the world is a little shaken because apparently Sheamus/Gunther was the 5* classic I didnt think was possible anymore, so there's that

 

Work or shoot, Punk was embarrassing.

 

If he wins at grand slam I think he should keep it longer than Revolution. Like he needs to hold it until DoN at least, probably until all out.

 

This entire press conference has been embarrassing.

Punk shitting on Hangman. Punk shitting on the bucks. Punk reiterating the same Colt Cabana stuff again. Tony making dumb ass faces as Punk buries 95% of the locker room.

If it’s a work(and it probably is), it shouldn’t be. If it’s a shoot, it shouldn’t be aired out like that lmao

 

TK with the “I’ve made a huge mistake” face during that Punk presser. So god damn uncomfortable to watch.

That Colt stuff is a shoot. Punk absolutely shit on that dudes entire life just now.

 

This is the stuff that just doenst work to me too...if you have a heel character like MJF who's actually blurring the lines at Double or Nothing (and I'll still bet that was a shoot turned work), thats fine. But this Punk stuff also expands your kayfabe that, for example, Jungle Boy looks even dumber. He didnt know Christian Cage was hurt? Because SRS did! And if he had just read the B/R Dynamite episode recaps, he'd have seen Luchasaurus hadnt changed his mask color and is still a heel!?

Like the Bucks are the strongest tag team in large part because they have the gossip channels it seems.

 

I mean, if thats a work...Id hate to know what Punk shooting on Colt would sound like.
