The bar has always been high for AEW PPVs...much like NXT Takeovers too. Thing Takeovers had going (and AEW PPVs until about a year ago) was limited matches.

Start Wednesdays dynamite with that FTR/Wardlow match, main event it with the womens title match. Put the Jade match on at 9pm. This PPV was done 20 minutes ago.

Selfishly, I dont want this to be anything because if I put a top 10 list of guys I watch, it was KO/Sami/Malakai high on the list, and I dont need him making me think I need to watch 5hrs of WWE TV again. Especially if Bayley is relevant again

 

lol don’t move both womens matches of the PPV

move the two non title trios matches. Use the time to give Hobbs and Jade an extra five minutes each. Have Bryan/Jericho in the runner up spot.

 

I mean, I agree, but, as they booked it I'm going off what has heat...Hobbs/Starks has to be on the PPV...and far too many Jade matches just simply belonged on TV. Also, Toni's win main eventing a Dynamite, versus what she got, would be a win.

 

if you get the stream, can you rewind during? i might buy now to catch the main event but i wanna go back to catch the acclaimed

AEW should move to 6-8 PPVs per year.

My memory is that Fite has a pretty quick replay...so you can watch the main right now, and then click back in and jump to wherever you want relatively easily. Not sure on B/R

edit: Just to test it, I clicked back...I got to Joe's entrance post-that match...so, as long as the PPV doesnt go off air, you can easily jump back in time on Fite

Which I am happy with (than someone gets a break and a company grants it)...but also, really hope we dont get some full stop on Julia's development, for example.

I always have to imagine its brutal for a Bray or Malakai or similar guys who go deep-down the kayfabe well for their characters. Especially if they have to find a kayfabe for their losses

 

Less need to fit anyone and everyone on each quarterly show.

 

Mox has kissed EFFY and drank the blood of CM Punk within a few weeks of each other. Maybe he should run the house of black.

 

Battle of the Belts being a 2hr, pseudo-PPV like they've done Grand Slam or NYE would actually be a nice upgrade. Same cost for fans, but, pay off an Athena/Jade or Danielson/Jericho type match at that instead of on the main PPVs

They could just you know not put everyone on one show lol

 

More PPVs wouldnt help AEW because they run 50% of their TV shows as "special" named shows, and they frequently book PPV matches 2-3 weeks out. I think 12PPVs is what caused WWE to book so many rematches, etc.

They just need a spot every ~6 weeks or so, whether BoTB or an established special event (Grand Slam, Fight for the Fallen, NYE show, etc) where they can pay off an angle thats hot rather than wait for a PPV
