The Cody thing feels like the most obvious example of a work. There’s gonna be a big dramatic cliff hanger next season on Rhodes To The Top(?) where this story gets “leaked” and we’re gonna get all the dramatic reactions.

That being said how exciting would it be if Cody shows up at the Rumble and drops the TNT title in a trash can

 

I really need this to happen now.

 

Yeah Cody is a carny at heart he lives and breathes shit like this. So honestly, yeah I think it’s a work.

I do think he is at a crossroads (pun not intended) about his career. He’s been vocal about not wrestling forever and has two shows on tv at the moment, if it’s not a work I presume it’s something to do with that. Re-negotiating his contract to do more TV / movie stuff.

 

Add in that he's been slow playing this odd meta-heel who doesn't realize he's a heel character, and it definitely feels ripe for being a giant convoluted work.

 

Which is weird, because Facebook Watch had them do that entire tournament built around male/female teams.

Im honestly happy if men/women are in factions and intermingle, even if the rule is still that once a woman tags in, another woman has to enter.

 

This whole week is going to be crazy.

 

good god a 15 minute "I'm going to leave" segment would kill me.

 

Funniest part of this is that if he left AEW, I have to imagine both of those TV shows disappear. Rhodes to the Top almost exclusively follows his AEW career, TNT isnt going to promote a wrestler who appears on USA or FOX...and he's on Go Big Show as cross-show promotion. They'd replace him with like MJF or some shit in a heartbeat.

 

Classic WWE move, give the guy a title run to get him to resign!

 

Nah someone mentioned that it's been gone for months but it's still on her IG bio.

Also leaning on this being a work, but these last two years have been very interesting so I have no fucking clue about anything.

 

At most, I could see Cody as a surprise entrant to the rumble and returning to Dynamite the same week.
