Meltzer isn't beyond criticism, but Rosenberg (and Satin too) constantly trying to make out like Dave is the most evil person in wrestling when in reality he's just a mostly well meaning but socially awkward goof who is incapable of reading the room or filtering himself; and then never saying a single negative thing about Vince or WWE whenever they blatantly do something evil or horrendous is ridiculous.

 

I think he may simply believe what meltz said was offensive

I get emails CONSTANTLY from Smoothie King Center in NOLA because of when I went to NXT there for Mania weekend, even though I've unsubscribed like 50 times.

(Also, Mania should just always be in NOLA)

Ehhhhhh, say what you want about Rosenberg, but he's pretty transparent about what he will and won't say about WWE given his working relationship with them, but when they've gotten something wrong, he's openly criticized them for it on numerous occasions.

 

I've never said it on here because I don't want it to be taken in a bad direction but for a long time it has been my belief that Dave is a level 1 on the autism spectrum. Which is high functioning. Purely speculation from my experience working in mental health for years and listening to tons of Meltzer. He can not read social cues (interrupts people all the time), he often can not tell whether Alvarez is joking with him or not (it's endearing Bryan is great with him). He does not have the best filter nor best control of his tone much of the time. He just hits a lot of the notes for a diagnosis like that.

That is just my belief and it's something to consider. If you don't like Meltz that's okay, I don't want to make this a debate about that. I am of noooo profession to formally declare something like that.

 

Also Meltzer is super duper sexist so let’s not pretend like he’s a good guy either haha

 

Meltzer has talked about “potentially” being autistic openly on the board before. He’s just never seen anyone for something like that and has said he won’t self diagnose.

He has missed the mark before with a lot of comments (a lot of which have been against women).

 

How many examples do we need of meltzer being a shithead?

 

Honestly, incredible all the way around...but also surprisingly safe for both dudes, cause even if they miss the catch, its still just a rough back bump.

I'd probably rather miss this than missing something like Ricochets 630

I don't think Meltzer ever has bad intentions.

It's no surprise he never got diagnosed, the spectrum wasn't invented until the mid 90s. Dude is 62.

I truly believe he is and if you do some research it explains a lot.

Do I think Meltzer is 'super duper sexist' and a shitty person? Absolutely not but he's in the spotlight and at the top of his field so people have the right to say whatever they want for sure.

If someone said “well, he came up in a different time” okay, fine but don’t blame the vile opinions he has on being on the spectrum. As someone who’s worked with people who have disabilities for at least a decade, very rarely, if ever have they expressed overtly misogynistic opinions like Dave has. The two have nothing to do with each other. It’s not like he’s misspoke once or two or was speaking out of context, he clearly just thinks that way. It’s messed up to conflate those things.

 

Okay fine, let me rephrase. Meltzer has said super duper sexist things on a relatively regular basis. And honestly “I think I have this thing but have no interest in confirming it or working on it” isn’t really the greatest defense every time he said something horrific lol
