The opening segment really got my hopes up. I'm fine with them having normal men's/women's divisions, but I wish AEW wasn't as scared of intergender stuff as WWE is.

Having Britt involved with the faction is fun and all, but there is no reason to not just run that as a normal 10-person tag with Stat being involved. Hell even the dumb "believability" argument that people make all the time is out the window, because she's the same exact size as the other 9 guys in the match.

Seriously, it's 2022. Get over the stigma and just do it. Intergender matches happen all the time in the indies and there's zero issues with it.

 

Didn't Cody say he isn't a fan of intergender wrestling a few years back? He probably plays a big part in why that's not a thing in AEW

 

Pretty sure both him and TK have said it. I think Cody's too scared because Leyla Hirsch would whoop his ass.

There's also a huge difference between something like this, where Beth isnt a competitor and isnt in a feud with Randy and its used as heat (which dovetails too closely to domestic violence and abuse as control)...and a woman being on the level of men and just competing. See: Nia Jax in the Rumble.

 

The new gear definitely works. I think once he turns on MJF, his theme is gonna work really well...its a little over the top when he's coming out to squash jobbers though

 

Would be curious to know what if any opinion TBS/TNT has on the subject and if that's influenced it to date. I can't think of many AEW feuds to date that it would have made sense for - but this one definitely does now with the inclusion of Britt.

 

They could always just make a feud. Add more women to stables. Boom, easy feud right there.
