I am glad he got that last run. I know not everyone loved it but he got a few months where he was in front of crowds going crazy for him for the most part just being himself.

I have been binging Showtime's Billions. Here is a note to the smarky wrestling fans in TV writer's rooms: you don't have to put in wrestling references multiple times every single episode.

"It feels like you just broke our neck with a stiff piledriver!"
"No I got you safely tucked between my legs, kayfabe all the way"
This was in a scene where financial executives are talking about a failed real estate deal.

I usually don't react at all to celebrity deaths but I guess this is the one that breaks me because he's basically the entire reason I got into wrestling

Just heard the news and legit devasted.

Will forever remember his post after Brodie passed away about missing the fact that they wouldn’t be able to grow old together and do shows in a random gym in their 60’s as the Wyatt family. RIP, I hope he and Brodie are already catching up and having a blast in a metaphorical gym somewhere.

Not sure if it was ever written up or explained in any pieces, but would love to know how he was able to go from Husky Harris to Bray. Obviously Vince had to give the ok at some point but did he convince Vince on his own? Maybe but seems hard to believe knowing Vince, so I wonder who (or how many people) bought in and helped get the Wyatt character approved.

The few things LU did aside, its THE single best cinematic match ever made and probably wont ever be topped. Basically peak Bray too; they made a Hollywood-level short and called it wrestling and it worked.

edit: Wonder if some people at WWE kinda knew; they uploaded this to Youtube only 6 days ago

I really don’t understand why I’m taking this so hard. Maybe because I have two family members that are going through some potentially fatal health issues at the moment. I don’t know. I’ve never been one to show sadness but ever since hearing about this everyone is asking me what’s wrong.

Boozer on Twitter had been hinting for weeks, since before Summerslam actually, that they were creatively prepping for Bray to return soon. This is what makes this news even worse, IMO.

I know why I'm taking this hard. I'm a selfish man. He had soooo much left. So much left as a person, for his own personal life and for his family. But also, so much left because he was a genius. The wrestling world deserved a lifetime of Bray Wyatt. His personal story arch was just beginning and it was exciting to see where next.

I really thought the era of losing wrestlers before 40 was over

Am the only one who is also like, losing someone at 36 hits harder when you’re 34 than when you’re 14. When you’re 14 it sad that you’ve lost that talent and so many people have lost a friend. When you’re 34 you’re like “shit that could be me”

This too. He was the same age as me. I’ve been lucky that I’ve never gotten Covid despite being directly exposed multiple times a day every day. I’m also diabetic so I’ve been told it can be bad for me. Makes me think I’ve been extremely lucky

Now be careful you don't get in the way of a bionic elbow" - A tech billionaire that is supposed to be an analogue to Peter Thiel.

The smark in this writer's room needs to fucking stop seriously.

To me its also that Bray is basically WWE's biggest "What If" probably ever. Obviously when Brodie passed, it was easy to imagine if he had been a part of the WM33 match with Bray/Randy or if he had gotten to debut in AEW before COVID took the crowds...but with Bray, sort of in the same way we watched Roman go from "the guy they chose" to "THE GUY"...it makes me wonder if they had put him over Cena and Taker in back to back WMs and then with Romans failed face run, maybe Bray would have been the face of the company for a decade.

Its got that same beat as Eddie where he surely got to be a champion and do his thing; but there's decades of stuff we just didnt get to see that were probably gonna be awesome.

I remember when I first watched Bray Wyatt. At a time when I was bored on main roster WWE, I remember seeing something called “WWE NXT” on Sky Sports. No idea what it was, but thought I’d give it a go. One of the first person I remember seeing was the former Husky Harris, now with a beard and an Hawaiian shirt, introducing everyone to a giant bearded guy in a dirty white vest who proceeded to decimate sone poor schlub. Everything about these two completely drew me in. The music, the presentation, the performance, it was all utterly fascinating. I became an instant fan and would look forward to anything both he and The Wyatt Family would do.

12/13 years on and those two guys that first captivated me are no longer with us. This fucking sucks.

After his run as Husky Harris, he was sent to NXT where he developed the Wyatt character for about a year before heading back to the main roster. I think the entire idea of him going back to NXT was to be repackaged into something more character driven because they were high in him during his initial Husky Harris run
