Per this doc Vince and Bruce Prichard literally flew to his house to make that pitch to him in person soon after they found out he was a free agent.

With how disgusted Cole sounds on commentary during Roman matches I’m surprised they haven’t had him try to get involved.

Solo shows up, about to attack whoever Roman’s opponent is, Cole says, “this is disgusting and I’m not gonna let this happen again!” throws down the headset, jumps on Solo’s back trying to stop him, Solo throws him off like a small backpack

 

Since Cody obviously had some control in this doc you can kind of get some insight based on who is featured and who is not.

The Bucks are mentioned by Cody and narration by name and shown in footage quite a bit. Kenny and Tony are non-existent in this.

 

You know what, I’m thinking that while The Rock won’t be the opponent at WrestleMania, I think he will be there in some capacity.

What city were they in when Roman won the rumble? And which family member came out to try and help get the crowd to stop booing? Philly and the Rock.

I can see the end already, recreate the end of the PPV - Rock holding up Roman’s arm to a sea of boos and by god they could make that ending to WM40 lol

 

This is where Drew's worry is very real; I think the Roman stuff has clearly been too far stop/start....someone has gotten the attention detail role in the promo stuff...but the booker is another thing. The Sami stuff never would have happened had Vince not gotten sidelined...I have no idea how much Vince/Cody were involved in the WM39 finish...but that's again where there's no payoff for The Rock in any way shape and form, whose hand does he raise?

The Rock appearing at WM40 to raise Solo's hand (or Cody's hand) to parallel that moment is...I mean its kinda the worst moment for everyone involved. Surely Rumble 2015 is a low point for current Roman he doesnt want to dredge up

 

Cody beating Roman at WM39, Roman crumbling today to Solo, unsure of his path...jettisoning Paul Heyman to reform the Bloodline truly could have been a major babyface thing for WM40. Could have actually been that tie-in...he wants to be the Tribal Chief but not Hollywood or something

Instead, we're starting to approach the point that Roman cant turn back short of reforming some nostalgia act with Seth

 

I like that Cody know the names of everyone in the wrestling press, and made all the other wrestling journalists in that room give Bill Apter a round of applause.

Jey/Jimmy is interesting. All I can think of is Jimmy being jealous of Jey's opportunities.

On AEW's side of things....I HATED the finish to Punk/Starks. That felt like the longest roll up ever, Starks should have easily escaped that lol

Hopefully WWE has plans for Kairi otherwise I hope she’s ready to spend a lot of time in catering with all the other recently re-hired women talent

 

I'm so glad we left before the main event last night. Buddy of mine stayed til the end and he said leaving was absolute hell.

 

I have more hope in Kairi than the others because she can easily be slotted into a story with Asuka and Iyo.

It's clear Triple H hired women like Emma, Mia Yim, and Tegan Nox to just be additional bodies on the roster (and I'm sure to do good by them after they got released under Vince). Unfortunately, when their own NXT can have more than four storylines featuring women on a two hour show, there's no excuse.

i am fucked up that WM19 took place closer to WM1 than it did to today

 

Kairi was also treated pretty poorly on the whole when it comes to main, HHH seems cognizant of that kind of thing

 

it's gonna be really fun to watch All In sales this week

 

I was thinking last night, that whole generation of people that came up in early NXT and or came in from Indie/Japan in the early 2010's. We got to see those people start out in WWE in developmental. Now most of them have had close to decade runs in WWE, a ton of them secured their HOF spot, and some are probably a few years off from retirement.

Like remember when Becky Lynch debuted in NXT as an Irish line dancer and everyone made fun of how goofy it was? Now she is close to a decade in, had a full career, and considered one of the greatest female stars of her generation.

 

It still fucks me up that Bryan winning the title at Wrestlemania 30 is going to be 10 years old In April.
