2nd worst part is there’s no reason for Roman to lose to the Rock

Eh, sure, I mean that was the chance for a generational payoff...like Foley winning the title was the end of WCW/ascension of WWE...but they did plenty with Cody being involved in that that it worked (had he won).

If I want to be generous, Jimmy's been the weak/emotional one all along, Jey's always had his guard up. Jimmy was the one Roman choked out and Jey protected him to start the story. Jey never trusted Sami, Jimmy/Sami had a handshake like 3 weeks in. Jimmy didnt hesitate to kick Sami's head off in the chaos of Montreal...while Jey didnt know what to do. Of course Jimmy's the one Roman could manipulate.

Problem is, the payoff to that is not good. Jimmy can only look dumb. Only Solo can look smart if he finds the right time to burn Roman.

  9. Jimmy turning on Jey virtually undos all the story that’s been built over the past two years / it makes no logical storytelling sense

I was never under the assumption Rock would actually have a match with Roman, but him getting involved in this angle by cutting some promos and being in Roman's opponent's corner always seemed to me to be the most realistic option.

The best way to use Rock on this is to have him be a counter to Heyman for whoever is eventually going to take the title off Roman.

Sami winning in Montreal was the move to make, little risk and huge potential rewards.

Even if he did… what sense does it make for him to beat Roman just to disappear again, this time really forever

I say this, as someone who initially had The Rock in my Royal Rumble card before re-thinking it, that yeah....that was the time. WM40, in Philly, isnt bigger than WM39 in LA was for The Rock...and Roman aint losing that match, obviously...so unless they have some insane plan like Roman losing at Summerslam 2024 in Wembley to a 90k capacity crowd they'll announced as like 110k to be the biggest wrestling event ever...and even then, who the hell beats him at that point?

I think Rock is too old and jacked to the point where he has no flexibility. The moment for his comeback has passed.

Cody winning at WM40 is still satisfactory, but, its like a B- end to something that could have been A+. There's two other logical conclusions (well, technically 3, but I cant see Jey Uso becoming the guy the ascend...so). One is actually coming full circle with Sami Zayn, he wins the Rumble or Elim Chamber and beats Roman clean, paying off a years worth of crumbling he started. The other is if they think Solo is the next face of the company level guy; him finally being the guy to put Roman down would certainly be a huge push.

Everyone else at this point is burned though. There's an outside world you could argue for KO, but again, feels like that time passed.

  18. You could Rollins vs Reigns I guess

The only Shield member that could beat Roman and pay off this story in a big way is a, then-AEW World Champion Jon Moxley returning and beating Roman for the WWE belt. Seth aint it...he's both a made man AND a dude who Roman's put down too many times.

  20. Roman’s never beaten Seth

Yeah, he has. In this current run, no (he was the DQ at the 2022 Rumble...but not sure "I got choked the f' out but technically won" is feud starting stuff), but Roman's beaten him multiple times.

Though, its more 50/50 than I'd have expected: Matches « Roman Reigns « Wrestlers Database « CAGEMATCH - The Internet Wrestling Database

Still, that'd be like Brock Lesnar beating Roman. It just does nobody for anyone. Seth doesnt need it. Doing Shield stuff without Dean is dumb. I'd rather them try and make someone brand new out of nowhere.

I am watching the Cody doc. I am almost impressed that this doc is pretty much like " lol WWE's creative process is fucked "

I almost fell asleep at the show at the beginning of the Roman match lol

still had fun tonight. Seth/Finn was my match of the night. That women’s triple threat was an absolute mess. So happy I got to see Io win the title.

" I can't tell you why I left AEW, and I will not tell you why I left AEW. I will say clarify two things that are not the reason though. I did not leave AEW because of money. I did not leave AEW because of other talents. I left AEW because of a personal issue. That's it.."

I mean can't be any more clearer that he left because TK did something that pissed him off.

He couldn't get over and booked himself into a corner he knew he couldn't escape.

I don't think TK did anything.
