I like how the standard “I’m a heel” attire for every white meat babyface’s first promo is shades and a jacket. That’s how you know it’s gonna suck.

 

Jangleman Jack Jerry was a terrible promo as a face so why did anyone think he'd be a good promo as a heel haha

 

plenty of guys suck as faces and are great as heels

i'd cut him slack, give him some time to find his way and grow into a persona

JB is the epitome of mid, I like the kid too. He’s a very good worker, he is majorly lacking the ‘it’ factor and his mic skills are lower than average

Jack running from Hook was good. Giving someone who is already a bad promo a live mic for five minutes to get go away heat was throwing him to the wolves. I'm guessing they'll keep this on Rampage or in backstage segments until he gets more comfortable, but it got a reaction so we'll probably see it again next week. It's going to have a short shelf life.

 

I feel like the most intriguing part of this Jack Perry turn is finding out what his new theme is gonna be.

 

I don't mind the heel turn. At least the ftw title will be defended again now.

I still think the ftw belt should be a belt with a specific stipulation.

I feel like JB didn't have a real character or gimmick before. He was only JB in name and hairstyle. Maybe he can be fleshed out a bit asa heel now?

I just put Yuka through thumbtacks while FTR's theme was playing during a match. This game is fun.

That's legit his main issue, he has no gimmick. He has a theme song that got over with the crowd and now thats gone lol

 

Completely agree; I kind of wish it was a mix of falls count anywhere and submission match to match Taz's vibe.

 

Also having someone playing the smarmy chickenshit role in the undercard feels redundant when your top heel is MJF lol.

Those graphics on the AEW game look like a nightmare.

 

I think Jungle Boys problem is actually perfectly encapsulated by the other pillars. He cant be the pure babyface, cause Darby has that on lock. He cant be the chickenshit heel, MJF has that on lock. And he cant just get by with a punchable face, cause nobody is topping Sammy for that.

His problem is basically what Roman had, pre-heel turn...where he was over for a group thing, had no real individual character...but Roman has a half dozen different pieces JB doesnt (his size makes him credible, has wrestling family connections to play off of, looks like a heel, etc), and he got to play out the early parts with no crowd. JB gets none of that and he has to go play heel on a show that is gonna routinely feature Mox and Jericho and MJF and others doing WAY more interesting stuff.

 

I think jungle boy will find his way. He can start by completely dropping jungle boy. Lean into coasting off his dads name.

 

I would say they could try making him the top heel on Rampage, but they did the same with Swerve Strickland and it did nothing for him. I think he'll go back to being a babyface because most of his strengths in the ring are there & AEW has a crowded heel roster right now. They sort of backed themselves into a corner after how weak he looked against Christian & the other attempts to get him over made him look even worse. He's not a lost cause, but starting the turn by giving him a live mic on the A show was just asking for X-Pac Heat.

 

I think “Jungle Boy” is a qualifier for one of the worst gimmicks of all time. Right up there with Fandango.

hopefully this isnt my first bad take back, but i dont get the whole "retiring the RKO" hubbub w Orton's future in question.

i know he said he should have picked a different finish, but i imagine that's more referring to the fulltime part of his career when he was accruing wear and tear. ultimately, the move is a flat back bump from less than shoulder height that he is in control of. is he just not gonna bump? idgi
