If anything, the Rock/Roman match is HOTTER without the title. Roman comes out of WM weakened, still declaring himself the tribal chief, and the Rock pops onto the screen to remind him he lost. Build a Summerslam match for control of the family, and it rebuilds Roman for WM40 to take back the belt.

I mean, this would fit with Endeavor buying them (who care a LOT about sports betting)...but, also, the result absolutely did leak.

 

Imagine a Bloodline story where the Rock returns because Roman lost, and that’s the basis for their feud. At least there’s an emotional hook there for Rock/Roman. But when has WWE ever shown that, with two of the white hottest baby faces in company history and the opportunity to create a moment that would be remembered forever with either of them, that they’d actually put over the underdog and make a new star. This is unsurprising but still disappointing garbage lol
