How did they ruin Wardlow so badly.

maybe it’s a story turn, maybe he takes it off MJF in 2024? I dunno. Hopefully it’s the beginning of a good long form story.

 

From the replies I’m reading that it’s April Fools day in Mexico. Would be an incredibly weird signing considering he just won the AAA tag title from FTR tonight.

Agreed. I’d love for AEW to push Bandido more and maybe partner with AAA for some Vikingo appearances. I wouldn’t be surprised to see someone sign Komander real soon. Dudes so good for being so young.

 

Feels like a lesson they learned with Wardlow and are implementing with Hook...cant heat a guy up that big if he's not 100% ready for the spot, and as we saw tonight in the selling (and in basically every promo Wardlow has cut), he aint ready to be a top guy. His character is too shallow.

Darby running in at the end reminded me how many other better characters AEW has, and Wardow finally taking a relatively clean loss removes that Goldberg-style weight from him

 

Komander should be on TV every fucking week.

 

So wait… FTR dropped the titles, Dragon Lee announces he signed with WWE post match, so AAA stripped them of the titles?

Is this a storyline thing or did Dragon Lee go max carny?

 

Nope. FTR was finishing up with AAA tonight. AAA already knew about Lee signing with WWE and decided it was better for Lee to win the tag title then be stripped following the match. Not much they could do considering both teams were finishing up with the company.

 

He’s starting off in NXT. He’s going to do some amazing work.

 

Oh boy.

 

Just gives off too much of an Elon Musk stirring shit on Twitter vibe. I like FTR, but, a few more months of that kind of nonsense and its not hard seeing the AEW fanbase turning on them

 

It’s definitely hard to tell their true motivations. I love FTR, but also feel like AEW has limited time to gain anything out of them. They are on the older side and have talked about winding things down. Honestly give me more focus on younger tag teams like Top Flight, The Acclaimed, Jungle Boy/Hook, etc than focusing on FTR in the tag division. If they are earnest in their intentions, a FTR/Punk-Elite feud would be quite huge. Besides that I think the tag division needs more fresh teams and FTR has done all they can in AEW.

 

When FTR drops the belts at WK, it’ll be very interesting to see what happens. It’s all right there for a couple of years of amazing stories between CM Punk/FTR and the Elite, but I could also just as easily see FTR becoming the Revival again if that doesn’t work out.

 

How quickly everyone has turned on FTR. I guess that’s what being associated with Punk does. To be honest though all the injuries and lack of Tony booking them vs the bucks really hurt them I guess. I feel like they’ve done more in other promotions than they have within AEW

 

Jungle Boy's been in the company since it began and they still don't know when and when not to set his pyro off.

 

Damn. Signing Dragon Lee is kinda huge. Not just because he’s a big name in AAA, but it shows that wrestlers outside of WWE and AEW still see WWE as a viable place to work again and not the shitty place Vince had made it for indie guys in the year and a half before he left.
