The chase is always more interesting than the actual reign. Having Starks win the title on a 2 week build would hilariously bad and reek of the dumb WCW comparisons people have made. MJF needs to be solidified as top star and Starks has plenty of time to grow. His win should be a major PPV event, not some Dynamite on a short build.

 

Very much on board with Drew starting a twitch stream where he only plays text-based wrestling booking sims.

I guess I just don’t currently trust TK with a long build for Starks

 

Despite what I said, I’m all for Starks being a main event player and being higher on the card. Would love to see someone like him with the TNT title instead of Joe.

 

Even Starks beating MJF just for the ring would be good which is why I’m not thrilled with the winner takes all stip next week but I’ll wait to see how it plays out

 

MJF should not drop the title in his first defense.

Doing a year+ program culminating in Revolution 2024 where Starks takes the title in the main event? Absolutely

 

And then MJF signs with WWE - yes please

 

The only thing itd have going for it is that the AEW title basically never swerves. CM Punk getting squashed by Mox was the only swerve I can think of (and it was amazing)...but otherwise, they tell long stories and give people proper reigns.

If you're gonna cut someone short, it almost has to be a babyface who needs a refocus and chase...not your top future heel for the next decade.

Starks is, I think, perfectly positioned for the TNT title. I know Wardlow is gunning for it, but I'd run back that triple threat, have Hobbs win it, and then do a Ricky v Hobbs feud heading into DoN.

By the way, I agree 100% with Drew about the Diamond Ring. They set up two separate prizes, it should be two separate matches, and I'd do exactly what they did with Omega/Christian in winning the Impact title. A shock roll-up victory for Starks, gives him credibility he might take the title, and gives Max a reason to think he needs help (so he debuts nu-Wardlow)

And Ricky having the ring for the year is the thing he could use to get another match or to needle MJF

 

By the way, Mox squashing CM Punk, also a strong contender for Best Moment of the Year. Just a wild swerve for a company that does not do swerves with their top belt

 

I legit thought the ring and title were separate. that's a dumb. ricky should win the ring and mjf keeps the belt.

 

Ooooh, someone pointed out that Bow Wow and Jade are feuding...and Jade was wearing a money outfit when that happened...so...
